Description

This is the third book in the Bluegrass Brothers series by USA Today Best-selling author, Kathleen Brooks.

Trouble worth dying for…

Miles Davies is a natural born leader. The former Special Forces commander has returned to the small town of Keeneston and has become the head of his own company. Nothing can shake his strong resolve. Not war, not the town gossips, and certainly not the one woman who both fascinates and infuriates him . . . or so he thinks.

Keeneston’s bad girl is back! Morgan Hamilton’s life ended and began on her high school graduation night when she left town with no plan to ever return. As a self-made businesswoman, Morgan is always on the lookout for her next victory. Little did she know that next victory would involve acquiring the company that belonged to the one man she always wanted for herself. The order is clear—get Miles’s company—even if it means murder.

About a couple who are destined to be together but yet opposite of each other. Morgan’s story really pulls at your heart but the man of her dreams helps her put her life back together with love. Miles needed her more then he ever realized. Neglecting to see himself suffering from PTSD during his time in the military, she helps be the light in his dark scary world. Don’t worry the good people of Keeneston are there to help, especially the Rose sisters they are in the middle of the situations.

I'm a huge fan of Ms. Brooks and this series. Thus a was a bit disappointed as I had a hard time latching on to this entry in the series. All the other books have grabbed me pretty quickly. This one takes some time both because neither of the main characters seems particularly likable (even though you know they will be eventually because, duh, romance novel!) plus there are a lot of flashbacks which I'm not really a big fan of. However as the story picks up speed I was sucked in just as I have been with the others. If we could choose half stars I'd go 4 1/2 but I can't give it a perfect five because of the slow start. Plus there's only one scene putting down Kandi and that's not enough!!

This book was convoluted and predictable. Nothing was believable.....especially the redundant love scenes. Take a break!

I've enjoyed reading about the brothers, and glad to see that it included issues with PTSD. With half the brothers in military, this story made the character of Miles more believable in my eyes. I figured there was something with him from the previous books, with his distance and structure. I'm glad you touched the subject, I know many that deal with this, and don't always have the happy ending. These books are great quick reads, and for a person who is not into romance novels, these are very sweet in that area, and I do appreciate the small town quirks that are represented. Great humor too. Hail to the Roses!!
