Description

The man was supposed to be her husband.
The baby was supposed to be her child.

But in the span of ten years, they both ended up belonging to her younger sister…and she was supposed to be happy for everyone involved.

But what of Marni Montgomery’s happiness?

After the sudden death of her only sister, Marni is forced to leave her boyfriend, to become “wife” to a man who was once her best friend, her lover, and “mother” to a child she gave birth to through surrogacy.

Marni chooses to build a “family” with Ben Howard for the sake of his daughter, Alice. Ben refuses to accept his growing attraction toward Marni, for the sake of his late wife. Noah, Marni’s boyfriend, refuses to acknowledge defeat, for the sake of his and Marni’s future.

This is the first of two books in the Harmony series.

Sorry Ms DW. This review is a few months late..i swear, two - three days after the book came out i submitted my review. You knew how i felt after reading the book.. I wanted you to finish the book right away. I just could not wait!! The book was a "breath of fresh air' im a die hard Reider but its nice to meet new characters! I felt hating one character and loving them in the following chapter.. I just could not make up my mind. Your that good!! Cant wait to read your next book!! Cheers!

Another amazing story by this talented author. Loved this book and all the different dimension that go along with it. Reading it through three different perspectives (people) makes this story that more special. Can't wait for more.

This book left me feeling unsettled . You never know which way is up .. At the end I am throughly fed up with Ben and his selfish misgivings . Marni needs to man up , and see she has so much to offer .! I commend Noah for riding out the waves and sticking with the one he loves ! Three out of Five grandparents are AMAZING. They were deff the highlight of this .. If Marnj ends up with Ben it would sour my whole taste for this book . #teamNoah I don't care about the twist and turns , give Noah his happy ever after with Marni .!!!!!!!! But it was a good read , different from the actual Reid's but still well written .

4.5 stars! I have read and thoroughly enjoyed each and every book this author has written, but I must say that this one was a bit of a departure from her other "reids". Ok, for those new to this author, I do know how to spell read, but for the loyal fans of DW Cee, reid is an homage to her long running Indelible Love series that introduces you to the Reid, Taylor and Davis families. They are a must reid (now you get it?). Now back to UM, there was no mistaking this book has DW's stamp all over it; great attention to detail, differing points of view from the main characters, beautiful European excursions, and well thought out plot themes. Keeping up with the time frames and the opposing view points were executed brilliantly, like only DW can do. The subject/theme kind of reminded me of some books I've read from author Liane Moriaty, but with a DW twist. Now my impressions, without giving too much away. I can't stand, and I mean despise Ben Howard!!! He is a selfish SOB, with no regard for Marni's feelings; what a jerk. Marni is a broken, insecure young woman, who can not move from her first love, no matter how painful and tragic, OMG DW, how sad! And Noah, the verdict is still out on him, I mean he went and married Siena; but I have to admit, Marni's hot to cold to mostly luck warm behavior were probably conductive to her man running into the arms of a sensual exotic woman, just saying. DW, in all your other stories, I loved the characters, and the joy was the journey of their romance and love story. With UM, I was more intrigued with the journey of the plot, and who will end up with whom. I had no real love for any of the characters yet they all evoked a pretty strong visceral reaction from me. I so wanted Marni to tell Ben to go to hell! Neither of these men could stand a chance to be my book boyfriend, whereas, you can give me some Jake, Donovan, Max and Nick all day (and night) long😉. I can't wait to see Ben's reaction to Marni's news; but something tells me that through the magic of DW, she is going to redeem Ben Howard in my eyes, and he is going to fight for his family. Great work DW, now hurry and Finish this thing!

I read it all in one sitting and don't want to post spoilers so let's just say this delivered a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish. I cried several times and am very conflicted. This is not a cut and dry story and the feelings are very raw and real. I'm dying for part two already!

As with all her books, DW Cee gives me exactly what I didn't know I was looking for. Great character building that pulls you into the characters lives and a great story that hooks the reader from chapter 1.
