Description

Are these two wounded hearts destined to heal together?

Jake
My time in the military left me with scars inside and out that not even the best doctor can seem to heal.
The only highlights of my day are my service dog, Atticus, and my job at Oakside with other wounded Military members.
Then, one day, she walks in, and everything changes...

Kassi
There aren't many options for a girl like me after high school.
Everyone in my hometown joined the military, so I did, too.
I thought, great get school paid for, get out, and live my life.
I wasn't told about deployments, being injured, having to learn to walk again, and the pain of reliving the worst moment of my life over and over again.
They also didn't warn me about Jake and his annoying persistence of not letting me give up...

They both have their own issues, love how they let their connection gradually grow and let their friendship develop deeper. Good story with a little bit of history they need to work with family and working through the past. Loved all the support from friends family and the support dogs who work tirelessly in their pivotal roles. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Saving Jake is a stunning and sweet novella. Kassi is a brave but traumatized veteran struggling to recover physically and emotionally, and she randomly ends up at the same place her ex’s brother now works at. Jake is also a war veteran recovering from his own emotional trauma while helping others. The chemistry between Jake and Kassi is a intense and well-played; author Kaci Rose has developed a sweet, realistic, and touching love story that gracefully yet directly addresses the real-life issues that veterans face when they return home. Loved this one, and can’t wait for Caden’s story! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I just love a great military after discharge books. This one hit all of the buttons! Jake is healing and suffers from PTSD. At the rehab facility, Jake has a job and that in itself helps him. Kassi meets Jake at the same rehab facility. She used to date Jake’s younger brother. This amazing book showed how vets get used to civilian life. There are many tactics used and together, the rehab center seems to work for the residents. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A wonderful addition to the Oakside Military Heroes series. Kassi has closed herself off as she is healing from a war injury. A surprising reunion with Jake whom she knew as a teenager brings some light into her darkness. Jake knows that Kassi is meant to be his and he will anything to help her heal. Great Read. I love the Oakside Military Heroes. This is Jake's story and Kassi's as well. Both are veterans and Kassi has a history with Jake. Loved the story -- friendship renewed, beloved characters making the story so much richer. This series speaks to the heart. I have reread the series many times. Bravo (now I need to reread Saving Noah again)!. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
