Unique murder twist of unpopular and heatless Contact Center manager Rosa Pebbles by a knitting needle. Competition rivalry gone wrong. Completely unexpected reveal on who done it. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a bit of an odd case. A rather unpleasant woman murdered in her own home yet the only motives that Amy and Ambrose can find seem silly and petty and not worth killing over. The deeper they investigate it seems that petty might just have been murder. I enjoy this series but this wasn’t a favorite book. Amy repeats how much she likes solving murders and working with Ambrose a lot, so much so that it seems like filler. The solution seems trite. There’s no real reason to focus in on the woman they do and then the reason for the killing just seems well silly. I like this series it’s mostly lighthearted paranormal mystery fun, but this book was a miss for me. My two cents your mileage may vary. Amy and Ambrose are back and have another murder mystery to solve. And this one is a bit tougher but they are on the case and working hard to figure it all out. Entertaining as always as they learn about the victim and try to figure how she died and who did it. Fun story and entertaining characters with drama to add to all the fun.

“Why have they stopped offering me a job? Their offers were insulting, but them not wanting me is even more insulting.” Amethyst and Ambrose have another murder to solve, this one comes with as many alibis as suspects! And some of their motives are all too easy to relate to while others will leave some of us (yes me) wanting to head to Google and find out if some of this is fact or fantasy. There are a lot of challenges when investigating a murder, not least of all is the fact everything the investigators learn about the deceased comes second hand. Having never met Rosa while she was alive they are getting to know her from the perspective of family members, co-workers, and those who knew her for years, but as with most real people that involves it’s fair share of dysfunctional relationships, disgruntled peers, and frenemies. Welcome to Amethyst’s magical corner of the world, where solving murders is equal parts fun, getting to spend time with friends and family at the police station, and frustration in the search for missing pieces of the puzzle known as ‘what really happened.’. I was gifted with a copy of Ties and Alibis and chose to share my thoughts.
