Description

Falling for her teacher is the least of her troubles

Amber's time at Ben Vair Academy hasn't been particularly fun. Having a tail makes her prone to bullying, even at a school for monsters, wizards and other mythical beings.

When a new teacher starts at the supernatural academy, she finds herself intrigued by the mysterious young man.

After he encounters her in her beithir form, she realises she may have finally found someone who understands her.

But when she agrees to help him on his quest, she gets more than she bargained for.

Through the Storms is an optional side story to the complete contemporary fantasy Seven Wardens series following Amber. It includes unusual Celtic and European mythology, plenty of adventure, and a romantic subplot.

  • Short Spinoff Novella

This is a short spinoff novella from the Seven Wardens series, kind of a prequel if you will. You get an intro to Izban, and through him you get a little info on Amber at the end of book one. In this book you get a bit of their backstory, how they met, when, etc. It's not a necessary read to understand the Seven Wardens series but I did enjoy getting to know Izban and Amber better. It's a short read, took me less than an hour. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Amber was always getting her tail taken off by the bullies then she would go down the old biology lab to grow it again. Agreed to help Izban with his quest that his grandfather the elder mage sent him on but a ghost told that they were for immortality. They went to destroy what they had and Amber got kidnapped and tortured by the voice in her mind.

First, this book continues on, so no HEA, with that being said... I really liked this adventure 7 Wardens series, loved the romance and the characters and plot. I was highly disappointed in the fact that the book ended! It is a must read, now I have to be patient and wait for the next book to come out to find out what happens. Okay, I’m addicted to this adventure series, just when I think the book is wrapping up, it ends for another adventure and a wait! Sigh, I love the characters and the steamy scenes. I liked that Amber and Izban have their own story before the 7 Wardens start, however short the story was and how she barely tapped into her powers before... I first read Through the Storms in the Breaking the Myth anthology. I really like Amber and Izban. Amber has been bullied, but tries to rise above it. She is smart and has an inner core of strength. I like how Izban encourage Amber. I was happy to see their story continue in the Seven Wardens series!

Good read. Felt more like an antibulling campaign than a paranormal romance. There were parts that were fabulous and describe in such a was it came to life but other parts felt like it was being repeated.
