Cassie is good at her job, and that’s without using her magic. Let her use her magic and she’d find even more answers… or help solve even more cases. When she’s approached to help three Paranormals solve a case she can’t help but feel like she’s auditioning to join their team… even as she has that nagging feeling they’ve already done their research and know all about her. This done in one quick read is equal parts intriguing world building and whodunnit, with each member of the team having their own reasons for wanting to solve crimes, when it comes down to it their common ground is indeed wanting to save lives, solve crimes, and arresting the bad guy, and seeing them punished is a great end to a case. • Enjoyable Supernatural Mystery!!

It's an enjoyable supernatural mystery with the main character working in a lab! I liked the scientific aspect with the blood samples and how Cassie is a nerd and wants to practically test everyone she meets! The story doesn't get too scientific, so that people without a science background won't understand it. It stays nicely entertaining without becoming complicated. It has a sweet romance with multiple partners! I thought the dynamic better them all was fun and entertaining. It is on the shorter side, closer to novella in length, which allows for the mystery to unfold nicely in a timely manner. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Cassie is a witch who works in a human lab doing testing bloodwork etc. one day her boss gives her a sample that has stumped him and all their machines. She suspects it’s paranormal blood but there’s more that she cannot nail down. When a mysterious man offers her the chance to find the answers she seeks but only if she doesn’t ask too many questions Cassie agrees and is drawn into the world of the Paranormal Criminal Investigations team. There she meets formally Hadrian the mysterious vampire man, Issac a necromancer and Zack a surly and antagonist not pathologist. The four are on the case trying to discover who is experimenting on various paranormals and why. As they work the case they make the surprising discovery that the three men are all Cassie’s mates. Unusual and interesting development. The case is baffling with evidence that is odd or non existent. They keep digging because there is a killer on the loose and these four are the ones sent to bring them to justice. Great beginning to a series. Supernatural meets CSI. Love the blend of the science and the magical. The characters are all unique and complement each other both professionally and personally. Definitely recommend!. Cassie had been working for Michael at his lab a few years now, Hariden asked for help on a case they were working on. The DNA found under one of the dead shifters nails came up as her boss so they had to prove that he was evil. The 3 guys in that unit were her mates also, they caught Michael at the lab only saved one shifter. She then started working with the PCI unit and her mates. Good book. This is the beginning of Cassie's story and how she meets her 3 mates and gets the job of her dreams. Easy to read and a clean story, it was a light mystery series dealing with the paranormal among us in this world. lots of procedural info as Cassie joins the team and starts to mix magic with forensic science.

The story is well written and with suspense, mystery, and a little drama. This is an enticing story that grabs your attention and doesn’t let go. It is a quick read but doesn’t leave you feeling like you are missing out. It is definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint. I love Laura and The Paranormal Council, so I was excited to read Spell Caster, it was great, I miss (SPOILER) the sex scenes. Cassie’s story in finding her mates Hadrian, Zack & Issac, was a YA type of book, very cute, kinda leads way into the future to Wolf Blessed, Blessed #1. Do read this story and I highly recommend this book, even tho it’s “G” rated - j/k. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
