Description

He would sell his warrior soul to possess her. . . .

An alluring laird...

He was known throughout the kingdom as Hawk, legendary predator of the battlefield and the boudoir. No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart—until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne de Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland. Captive in a century not her own, entirely too bold, too outspoken, she was an irresistible challenge to the sixteenth-century rogue. Coerced into a marriage with Hawk, Adrienne vowed to keep him at arm's length—but his sweet seduction played havoc with her resolve.

A prisoner in time...

She had a perfect "no" on her perfect lips for the notorious laird, but Hawk swore she would whisper his name with desire, begging for the passion he longed to ignite within her. Not even the barriers of time and space would keep him from winning her love. Despite her uncertainty about following the promptings of her own passionate heart, Adrienne's reservations were no match for Hawk's determination to keep her by his side. . . .

I really can’t decide if I liked this story or not. The story seemed to go very fast and very slow at the same time. Currently trying to decide if I want to move on to the second book in the series....

I wanted something similar to Outlander and was recommended this. Way too silly for me with the fairies! If it didn’t have the bizarre fairy aspect I would have actually enjoyed it....

his was even better the 2nd time around! I completely loved rereading it! Hawk is known as an amazing warrior and lover. When he attracts the ire of a vengeful fairy, Adrienne tumbles out of the 20th Century and into his life. Forced to marry her, Hawk is astounded to find how much she attracts him and how much he immediately likes her. Adrienne isn't so generous in her feelings with Hawk. She wants nothing to do with this man that she sees as beautiful and faithless. It soon becomes clear that settling into marriage is not the only obstacle they face. Someone is out to cause harm to one of them and they must face that danger, their growing feelings for one another, the threat of Adrienne being taken back to her own time, and a fairy with a nasty temper. Hawk was such a great character! I loved the way he had traveled and brought ideas he saw to make life better back to his castle. The kitchens and nursery sounded especially amazing. I liked the way he fell for Adrienne so immediately and owned his feelings without trying to talk himself out of caring for her. It was a little frustrating to see Adrienne deny Hawk over and over and even refuse to say his name. Worse was when she made him think she wanted Adam instead. I liked her a lot, but was glad when she finally realized that Hawk was not a faithless womanizer, but a really good man. I thought Lydia and Tavis and their changing relationship added to the story. After reading all of the books of the series, it was interesting to come back to the beginning and meet these characters over again. I sure paid more attention to Adam this time around, and I have to say he didn't come out of this one looking too good!

I was so excited after I saw this book's summary, I couldn't wait to start reading it! However, after reading the story, I have to admit that it was somewhat disappointing. Hawk and Adrienne's relationship in this book is ridiculous; throughout the whole story it was one step forward and ten steps back; and then add in the conflicts of a love triangle. The book, unfortunately, wasn't what I thought it was going to be.
