Amateurish

I have read other books by this author. This one must have been among her first. Not quite up to par. She uses the word “tableau” at least ten times in this book. Some of her descriptions are amateurish. The story as a whole is not bad.
Lots of eye rolls - drivel

Don’t ask me why I started reading on a tone of a Victorian romance. The words. Oh the words. Too descriptive and outlandish. I kept skipping into I saw who the author was and the. I tried a couple of her books but found them tedious and whenever I see her name I ignore them but this one escaped me. Needless to say, I did not finish.

Why use 20 words when you can say it in 10? Put down the thesaurus. I made it 10 pages and just could not continue.

This is your typical female FBI agent who should be wearing a Wonder Woman costume. Only got to chapter 3 and couldn’t take any more. It’s exactly the portrayal of these female agents that steer me away from these kinds of books. When it’s free, I give it a shot. Waste of time.

I found the reading tedious after 4 pages. Found the writing padded with way too many adjectives and adverbs. Was this to get enough pages?
