The print changed to from one chapter to the next, and some parts I couldn't read because the font was too small and no way to enlarge it. The storyline was enjoyable and I think the author put some research into the story.

*TINY SPOILERS* Convoluted or not, I was totally on board…until the part where he literally decided to drown her??? After he JUST went on a whole inner monologue about “being more patient” and “trying to understand her” like ummmmm…excuse me?????? AND THEN SHE FEELS BAD FOR HIM??????????? Listen. Listen. The writing style is SO good, but some of these decisions…ma’am the description says you wrote this in 2023? Are we SURE we thought that bit through enough? — Despite my sincere reservations, I did keep reading and finished this book. It wasn’t painful, but I agree with other reviewers who said that the plot felt VERY rushed and the characters’ personalities wishy-washy at best. Gabriel was a fine male lead in the end, despite his very poor choices early on. At no point did I feel like Magdalene was badly written—she just caused me a lot of secondhand embarrassment with her lunatic actions. The foreshadowing was very obvious, and everything played out pretty much exactly how I expected, which left me satisfied. If I could give this 3 1/2 stars I would, but I left it at 4 since I’m going to read the next book in the series.

I didn’t like the way she acted but I like Gabriel that’s why I put 2 stars

Well written and exciting! Great story told with emotion and excitement! Good read !

Greatly enjoyed reading this book. Great characters, pacing, flashes of humor, and lots of love. No cheating, no cliff hanger, and happily ever after. Will read again and will read the rest of the series!

Lovely story.

I enjoyed the characters, plot, and villainous surprises! My only qualm is that it felt short for all that we enjoyed.

I thought the book was really well written. Keeps you on your toes. Of course I love always wins.
