Description

If Lord Donovan Trent had his way, he would spend his days carelessly wooing the women of London society. Instead, he found himself banished to the English countryside of Cornwall, forced by the decrees of his father's will to run his family's tin mines and find a country bride. The last thing the handsome lord needed was a local lass sticking her nose into his affairs, but that seemed to be exactly what the parson's daughter Corisande Easton had in mind.

This had too much anger. I had to literally skip chapters because of all the anger issues.🤦‍♀️

Good grief! Whatever happened in Corisande’s life to make her so angry, hateful, mistrusting, and belligerent? Her constant anger and willful belief in the worst in others grows tiresome. She becomes as annoying, self-pitying, and unlikable as her husband’s sister-in-law, Charlotte.

It’s not clear where the title came from but I liked the story. It had mysteries, twists and turns, villains and action. The only thing that kept getting in the way of the romance that should have been going on was the lead female’s out of control temper. It abruptly came to an end when she finally realized she loved the male character.

Silly insipid romance with few redeeming qualities. I couldn’t get past the first few pages, and that far only because I read only the first sentence in each paragraph.

I keep putting the book down and hoping Cori would change before I can enjoy it. So far not happening. I would go no where near her in real life or any person like her. I read to relax but hard when the main character is such a nasty person. Not sure why writers think strong women can’t be nice

Fierce Corie and Donavon are both of fierce temperament. They marry for different reasons. Through many adventures they fall in love.
