Description

Who knew starting over could be so dangerous?

Stella

You know what's worse than turning forty? Knowing the last time you had sex was with your ex. Ten years ago.

So when my best friend takes me out to celebrate my new job, I let the sexy twenty-something flirt with me. And take me home.

Because I deserved that one-night stand. I regret nothing.

Except, as it turns out, he's one of the partners at the security firm I now work for.

Fan-f*cking-tastic.

Trevor

I do not need any distractions right now.

And Stella? She has distraction written all over her.

She's an employee. She's also a single mom who needs romantic drama even less than I do. I should stay away.

But I don't.

Because every forbidden, stolen moment makes me want more.

I want forever.

Now all I have to do is convince her I'm worth the risk. Oh, and I also need to catch the deadly cyber-terrorist who targeted her to get to me.

But, hey, no pressure, right?

Savor is a standalone romantic suspense novel with a hot, protective former SEAL, a heroine who is about to realize that 40 is the prime (and time) of her life, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

This was a really engaging “reverse” age gap romance. Full disclosure, I hate that wording! Can’t we just call it an age gap romance without that word reverse added it…drives me crazy! But I digress… It’s funny, but I think Trevor, the hot and hunky 28 year old, is at times more mature than 40 year old, mom of a teen, Stella. Most of that is to be blamed on the unhappy and unwise marriage to her ex hubby, who’s a complete tool. Getting married just because they get pregnant is never a good enough reason. But Stella also has inadequacy issues of her own. Trevor is a wonderful character and he was honestly my favorite part of the book. I liked his forthright personality and his open and honest feelings and interactions with both Stella and her son Ethan. Ethan himself was very well written and I think portrayed accurately as a teen…neither a shining Angel not a sullen brat. It’s often a hard balance to achieve for an author. While part of the Twisted Vine series, you really don’t need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one. I myself didn’t read book two and had no problem following along. Maybe because Trevor was more of a character on the perimeter of the earlier action. Either way, I liked this installment.
