This was a GREAT book, yes it has some romance in there but it wasn’t the cringy, throw up in your mouth, "what are we sixteen?” type of writing. The actual plot was magnificent I was laughing in some parts and found myself “at the edge of my seat” in others. I read this as a part of a box set but had to leave an individual review for this one!

I am a big fan of really well written romantic suspense and Toni Anderson is one of the best authors writing today in this genre. Her books always include intricately created suspense, strong women and heroes with well rounded characters accompanying their muscles. There is just the right amount of jeopardy, sizzle and humour and every aspect is meticulously researched. I can’t recommend Toni Anderson’s books highly enough if you enjoy romantic suspense and we beautiful written yarn.

What a suspenseful story! This is my first read from this author, but I became so invested in this story that I definitely want to go back and read the previous books before this spin-off. It was crazy that someone would target FBI agents, and the catalyst being the assassination of another during the funeral of another one. This sparks Ava to fight to investigate, having a feeling that something bigger is going on with these murders. Dominic is hesitant to believe Ava, especially with her being a new agent and him being seasoned, but when things start to add up he hops on board and they start to determine who is after the other agents. This story kept me guessing and changing my mind on who was behind the murders, and I was definitely shocked to find out who was behind it and the reasoning behind them. Combined with the suspense on who was behind the murders, I also liked the romantic aspect within the storyline with Dominic and Ava and the politics with a relationship within the FBI. It was a wild ride and I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Now this book has some true twists. This is an awesome read, but all Ms. Anderson’s books are a cut above, this newest series is no exception. This one starts with a “bang” and continues at a fast pace through out. There is drama, mystery, angst, intrigue, steam and romance. Add this to your TBR list.

Every time I think Toni Anderson can’t get any better, she does. Cold and Deadly, the first book in her new Cold Justice series, sets the reader up perfectly for the roller coaster ride of murder, distrust, cunning, adventure, and attraction. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down! The action starts with sniper shoots during a funeral. Was the shooter’s victim the first or the second? Was the man they were trying to bury the first victim instead of the “accident” they thought it was? Special Agent Ava Kanas knows it was murder, she just needs help proving it. Van was like a father to her and she won’t let his death go unpunished. Unfortunately, no one agrees with her until top negotiator Dominic Sheridan finds some evidence that doesn’t fit. I had no clue who the bad guy was until almost the end of the book! And I am not giving that away! You have to read this fast paced tale yourself to find the bad guy. I hope you love it as much as I did!
