This is book # 9, in the Men of the Zodiac series. It can be read as a standalone as books are not interconnected on anything other than they mention the astrological sign inside them. I just recommend reading the series as a whole, since they are all good book of HOT men and strong women. Zoe Davenport is running away from a scandal that her ex-fiance has created. She asks an old friend to help her out and he tells her a mutual old friend can help her get away for a while. Little does she know until she arrives on the island that the mutual old friend is her former neighbor and hottie boy next door, Ryder Nash. Ryder had no idea who he was helping, just was willing to do the favor. When she arrives they both have a bit of a shock. Unknown to either of them, they were attracted to each other back in the day - but neither acted upon it. It has been 10 years now, and their lives have moved on. Well, sort of. She is still hot for him and he is extremely attracted to her. Now if only the past and a certain bunch of paperwork could get out of the way... Zoe is not sure how to feel except excited and hot under the collar at the thought of being with Ryder. He is sure sending her mixed messages. What is a girl to think? One minute he is all over her with kisses that nearly scorch her. The next - running away and telling her he can't. Ryder has never wanted anyone or anything the way he wants Zoe. Now it is just a matter of how much he wants her. Is it worth more then his net worth? He has a lot to lose if he gives in to his desires. I found this book completely compelling. I was hooked at page one, and could NOT put it down. There are surprises in store for the reader! Ryder was to never have anything to do with Zoe for the rest of his life or he would owe Zoe's father 10 times what he was paid or his entire net worth, whichever was greater. Now, 10 years later Ryder owns his own island with a private resort and billions of dollars. Will the re-entry of Zoe into his life make him long for what he could never have or will everything he's built be too much to take a chance at losing? Amazing! This story flowed so effortlessly with everything falling into place and characters so real that I felt like I was watching a movie as I was reading. Ryder is the bad boy that isn't afraid of his feelings. He's as honest as he can be and did I forget to mention he's too sexy for words? HOT! I like Zoe's no BS attitude as well. Fantastic Sweet, Hot, Billionaire Romance. What a wonderful story. Sweet loving and oh so sexy and Hot. Had likable characters that had a wonderful connection. I got a good feel for the story right away and liked both Zoe and Ryder immediately. I like that push and pull they had on each other, it made for some really great chemistry. Wonderful build to their relationship and I Loved how it all played out. Zoe Davenport is the spoiled little rich girl, who has always done what her father wanted. Which has put her smack dab in the middle of the newest scandal in DC with her fiancé or ex- fiancé, Senator Todd Randall being caught sexting with the interns who worked under him literally in his congressional office. Since this scandal could cause her politically driven clients to be skittish about her being their lawyer, she asks an old friend to help her get away. So with a fake name and a undercover story she finds herself on her way to a perfect idyllic private luxurious resort. Ryder Nash is the owner of the resort a world class destination that guaranteed anonymity and was the Hot Bad boy that use to live next door to Zoe, but she couldn't stand him. He was the Hot Bad boy with a loud car and a new girl every weekend. They haven't seen each other since his graduation when he up and left town. He has come a long way since then and although he knows she is coming she doesn't have a clue, who is about to be the old fellow school chum who is helping her hide from the scandal. So when these two come face to face both of their long lost desires come back to the surface and they find out that the chemistry between them is sizzling. But there are secrets that Ryder is keeping that could cost him everything if he acts on his feelings. But when your own private fantasy is within your grasp, would you let it walk away?
