"Nisa" by Marjorie Shostak was first published by Harvard University Press in 1981. The book is subtitled "The Life and Words of a !Kung Woman."
The book brought a lot of name and fame to the author. She was born in Brooklyn, New York. She successfully completed her major course in English Literature as an undergraduate.
Marjorie came across her future husband, Melvin Konner, at Brooklyn College. She went with him to the Dobe region of Africa, in 1969, where Melvin was doing his doctorial research.
