This murder mystery, with it’s twists and turns is a good read, however, some of it is a little too far-fetched. Specifically the physical fights, then the “you don’t have a concussion” diagnosis, followed by all the symptoms described that were those of a concussion. And the remark about another hit to the head will cause brain-damage, was overdone, just as the fights. The protagonist was threatening the characters with possibly being targeted as the killer, but rather than enhance the book, the violence was gratuitous. But still live RNP as an author. His other books I’ve read are usually superlative and mature, making me think this was a very early write.
