    All the emotions of Alien and Aliens, It’s not perfect, but at the end you’re wishing they’d made this into a movie.

    I recommend this book 100%! As a true fan of the Alien franchise, I was elated to discover there were three more books in the Alien series: Out of the Shadows, Sea of Sorrows & River of Pain. These books are a true fans dreams come true! I devoured all 3 books & thoroughly enjoyed every bit of them. I anxiously await another new tale about the sinister Weyland Yutani Corporation and their ultimate prize to capture an alien by any means possible. Thank you Tim Lebbon, James A. Moore, & Christopher Golden for such wonderful tales into the world of Alien!

    I LOVED THIS BOOK! The people who wrote bad reviews for this book clearly did not watch and like the alien movies. If you like the alien movies then read this book. I seriously hope it is made into a movie because I would definitely go see it. I am currently in the second book and I love it. It confuses me why each book has a different author. Even though they do they are still really good and I can not put it down. I do hope a movie is made out of this book series.

    The book is not a bad read. It is character driven which I enjoy, but though it did offer a few surprises, mostly early on, which is nice, it ultimately fell back into the Alien formula: an archetypal Viking story. I’m not sorry I read it, but I have to say that it really felt forced, shoehorned. Honestly, I rolled my eyes and groaned at how he decided to end it, but considering that 88% of the book held my attention, I’m putting that down to the constraints, and giving it a solid 3 stars for effort. He’s not a horrible writer, although some of his language and dialog can become a bit repetitive. I must admit to a compulsion to read the two upcoming sequels. I wonder what more can be wrung out of the aging Alien mythos. Then again, poor Ripley. Isn’t it time we put the tortured woman to rest?

    I have read other alien novels in the past and this one I would say is one of the better ones. The story Is quite good and It explains most of the characters quite well but it does have its flaws. First the aliens feel not that scary in the book. He tries to make the aliens feel like a threat but they seem to just be blown away by the protagonists. Also the ending is quite abrupt and makes you want a better conclusion to the story. Other than that though i felt the story was rather good and I got attached to some of the characters, and i was engaged in the story for the whole time. Overall its a good story that is enjoyable especially if you are a fan of the alien universe like me :).

    I really don’t know how to put this politely…but Mr. Lebbon writes like a 12 year old on a high after seeing Aliens. That’s not necessarily a bad thing overall, his story idea is good and gets rid of a lot of nagging questions that the first movie had about how the creature itself could multiply. The problem is that he makes plenty of call backs and call forwards to both the Alien and Aliens movies that don’t make any sense when put together, and that kind of impedes reading when your own brain sees a parallel to Aliens that should have come up in the movie, but didn’t. Overall, they should have branched out from another point in Alien lore that wasn’t well defined and gone from there. It would have made a better book.

    I have always loved the alien movies especially the first two. This story has the same suspense, atmosphere and was very easy to get into. I will admit about halfway through I was wondering why this was written the way it was because it didn't seem to follow the story in the movie franchise however by the end of the story it was all explained, in fact I sort of predicted how it would end before actually getting there. I would recommend this to any fan of the movies.
