Description

This Christmas brings an unexpected gift…
For years, quilt making has been Sarah Smith’s creative outlet. When she starts donating her one-of-a-kind quilts to hospitalized wounded warriors, she hopes her artistic designs will bring the soldiers peace and the knowledge that their service is appreciated. But this holiday season, Sarah finds herself mired in an arm-length repair list for the B&B she’s hoping to open.
Former Army Ranger Bodie Lewis knows he’s lucky to be alive. But he’s struggling to adjust to civilian life after his injury and mired in survivor guilt. Needing a distraction, he sets out on a private mission to thank the quilt maker for her gift that comforted him during his recovery. He’s hoping he can do a good deed in return. Bodie’s stunned the artist is a young, beautiful woman and amused she mistakes him for the handyman.
Bodie works on Sarah’s home repairs and soon her sweetness and Christmas spirit imbue him with something he thought he left on the battlefield…hope.

It’s a major challenge to move from the darkness of pain and military injuries to a pre-injury persona and Bodie wanted to thank the seamstress who made a quilt of valor and comfort that wrapped around him. Expecting to thank an elderly lady, he met a young lady who exuded cheer, energy and positive vibes which seemed to rewire his damaged outlook and gloom but letting go of so much past pain and loss of war buddies was a big order. Well written.

Sarah and Bodie’s story was so sweet, and what’s not to love about the Butterflies? I enjoyed this book very much and the HEA was special.

Such a heartwarming story with sadness but also happiness! The Quilt of Valor is such a wonderful gift made to our heroes to honor them and their service to our country.

I had not read this author before so wasn’t sure what to expect. It was the sweetest story I have read in a while. It touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. I have been binging on Christmas stories this month and this one gave me the feels. And I am sure I will look for this author again.

Very drawn out romance without any passion… hard to get through it at all, and skipped through a lot.
