Description

Jillian Nejat is the only dating and relationship expert on the planet who is incapable of speaking to men. If they're living, if they're breathing, it's game over.

With her bank account at zero, her career a dumpster fire, and her dating life in a ten-year slump, she moves into a tiny, dirt-cheap NYC apartment.

Unfortunately, the apartment is already occupied.

Daniel (no-last-name) is a sexy, shirtless, six-pack wielding heartthrob who is also…dead.

He isn't living. He isn't breathing. He's a ghost. He's also the only man on the planet who Jillian can talk to.

Soon, Daniel's convinced that it's his afterlife mission to resurrect Jillian's love life. He knows, if he helps her fall in love then he can move on. Jillian agrees. The last thing she needs is a Lothario ghost haunting her living room.

But then, one practice date leads to another, one confession leads to more, and suddenly Jillian fears she's falling for the one man she can never have.

Since this was a new author for me I really didn’t know what to expect. And a story about falling in love with a ghost ? Not my type of book at all. Book reading is my passion and I’ve switched genres a few times. Since today’s world is so gloomy I have been reading a lot of romcoms. Read the synopsis and thought, why not ? I got into this story and couldn’t put it down. I was so afraid of the ending because I began to believe it was all a possibility. That’s how well the story was written. I will be reading more books by this author.

I picked up this book cus it was free and I love a good cheesy romance novel. I started reading it and I could stop. Read it cover to cover in 24 hours. Easily one of the best books I’ve ever read. I don’t wanna write a spoiler so I’ll just say I love that the HEA is more than just that - it wraps everything together in a nice neat bow. Do yourself a favor and read this book. I’m buying the second one now. Eagerly awaiting the third.

It’s not very often that I come across a book that truly makes you immerse yourself in the story like this one did…I felt as if I were living vicariously through the characters the entire time. The ending/ 2nd epilogue was the icing on the cake tying the ending back into how it all began. Truly a great read!

Sarah Ready's "Ghosted" marks my third adventure into her written world, and once again, she delivered beyond my expectations. This book held me captivated, constantly guessing the turns in the plot and anticipating the fate of the main characters. Jillian, a journalist specializing in relationship advice columns, faced a puzzling dilemma: she struggled to engage in meaningful conversations with men. Her love life was in disarray, her career less than stellar, and to top it off, she found herself in a newly rented apartment, formerly a mirrored sex den, haunted by a shirtless ghost. Daniel felt an inexplicable connection with Jillian, convinced they'd crossed paths before. However, Jillian vehemently denied any previous encounter, urging him to leave her be. When Daniel learned of Jillian's issue with the opposite sex, he made it his mission to assist her in both her love life and writing compelling relationship articles for the newspaper. The story's premise, brimming with uniqueness and intrigue, kept me flipping pages, eager to discover how a ghost and a living woman might find common ground, especially since I'm a sucker for happy endings. The nod to parallel universes was a game-changer for me, especially in the captivating dialogue between Jillian and Serena. Sarah Ready's take on this phenomenon was not only intriguing but felt entirely plausible. I revel in romance novels that intertwine scientific concepts, adding depth to the narrative, and Ready effortlessly succeeded in doing just that. However, two elements nudged this book to a four-star rating instead of five. At times, I found the pacing lagging, particularly in certain chapters where the prior ones brimmed with action and life, causing a slight dip in momentum. Moreover, a few characters felt underdeveloped, leaving their resolutions feeling hurried. As a reader invested in their journey, I wished for more than just a few pages to learn about their fate. Nevertheless, "Ghosted" remains a commendable recommendation, especially for enthusiasts of witty rom-coms and paranormal romances. Despite some minor areas that felt lacking, it remains a delightful read that will leave you yearning for more. Ready's skillful storytelling and inventive blend of genres make this a worthwhile addition to your reading list.

Ghosted by Sarah Ready is her newest release. It is about Jillian Nejat. She moved into a new apartment, and a ghost appeared. The ghost, Daniel, couldn’t remember who he was, where he came from, or how he died, but he was the only man she could talk to besides her father. Jillian’s life, including darting and professionally, was in the toilet. Daniel concluded that his purpose was to help Jillian fall in love, and then he could move on. But as they practiced dating something happened. What does one do when she has fallen in loved with a ghost? I am a newer reader of this author’s work, but I have loved every book I’ve read. I can now state definitively that I am a fan. The author weaves words to create stories that are rich with description and emotion. Her characters are multifaceted and impossible not to love. Jillian has so many quirks and gets into predicaments that had me laughing out loud. Daniel showed varied aspects of his personality in different circumstances. His light irreverence and tendency toward innuendo also kept the comedy going strong, especially in contrast to Jillian’s purity, I truly couldn’t imagine how this pair would reach their happily ever after, but Ms. Ready managed it handily. I listened to this book as an audiobook and highly recommend the experience. The narrators were perfect for their characters and both enhanced the book experience for me. I recommend this book for readers who love contemporary romcoms with a slight paranormal bend. They could be enjoyed by fans of Laura Pavlov or Mary Kay Andrews. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Netgalley and W. W. Crown Audiobooks.
