Description

Navy SEAL James Reece faces a devastating global conspiracy in this high-adrenaline thriller that is ripped from the headlines—from the #1 New York Times bestselling author and “one of the top writers of political thrillers” (Bookreporter), Jack Carr.

In 1980, a freshman congressman was gunned down in Rhode Island, sending shockwaves through Washington that are still reverberating over four decades later.

Now, with the world on the brink of war and a weakened United States facing rampant inflation, political division, and shocking assassinations, a secret cabal of global elites is ready to assume control. And with the world’s most dangerous man locked in solitary confinement, the conspirators believe the final obstacle to complete domination has been eliminated. They’re wrong.

From the firms of Wall Street to the corridors of power in Washington, DC, and Moscow, secrets from the past have the uncanny ability to rise to the surface in the present.

With the odds stacked against him, James Reece is on a mission generations in the making. Unfortunately for his enemies, the former SEAL is not concerned with odds. He is on the warpath. And when James Reece picks up his tomahawk and sniper rifle, no one is out of range.

From “a master novelist” (Ballistic Magazine), “quintessential hero James Reece is exactly what’s needed in today’s chaotic political milieu” (K.J. Howe, author of Skyjack).

Another incredible story by Jack Carr. If you enjoy reading faction (fiction with a lot of truth) you need to pick up his books and begin enjoying. Looking forward to book 7!

I have LOVED all of the other Jack Carr books, but this one is a significant downgrade. This is the first book that felt like the speedy distribution is costly to the book…it feels rushed and not well put together compared to all of the others. And the deep dive into politics is hard to read. Some of it is good; some of it is misguided. But there is way, way too much of it. All of the political stuff is amplified because the hero is stuck doing nothing in a dark cell for easily a quarter of the book. So all politics and no action. Not why I read Jack Carr. Maybe he should run for politics and take a break from writing. Get that out of his system and come back to doing what he does best when he’s ready again.

Way to political and shy of much else at 15+% of the way through. This is supposed to be a work of fiction not of one persons, political perspectives, and leanings which has every right to be discussed in an open forum. I don’t work of fiction but I paid $15 for.

Jack. You’ve written another well rounded book. This one seems a bit rushed and repetitive in its verbiage at times. It has set up some good possible future plots. Still one of my favorite series. Waiting for you to top your Magnum Opus - Savage Son, and to that I say “Best of luck”.
  • Shortcut to a conclusion……

Entertaining. Seems more like a hurried conclusion after the build up of previous books. Manages to capture the protagonist internal conflict but that internal battle is overshadowed with product placement. But still a fan of the author.
