Description

She’s not the bride he ordered…

Desperate for a fresh start, Ingrid travels west and marries a handsome rancher named Everett Manning. When she disobeys him on their wedding night, she’s shocked when the brawny cowboy takes her over his knee for a firm spanking before they consummate their marriage. But he also incites her desires, and she soon finds herself yearning for his masterful touch.

Everett longs for a woman to share his life with, and he decides to place an advertisement for a mail order bride. The petite blonde who steps off the train takes his breath away, and he can’t wait to get her home and claim the blushing beauty. He’ll show her what happens to naughty wives, then he’ll teach her what happens in the marital bed.

But what will the strict rancher do when he learns his new bride has been keeping secrets?

Ingrid’s sister Mary was killed in a house fire and she is devastated without her. Mary was all she had left of their family. Their parents were killed when she was young and she and Mary went to live with their guardian. He has provided for them out of family duty, but has very little to do with them. When Ingrid is cleaning she finds some letters hidden on Mary’s side of the room. She has been corresponding with a cowboy in Wyoming for quite a while and in the last letter he sends her money for the train ticket to Wyoming to become his bride. Ingrid can’t believe Mary could do such a thing without telling her. She reads all the letters and realizes that Everett Manning is a very caring man and she doesn’t know what to do about him. She feels awful that he has lost his bride. When her guardian tells her one of his friends is coming to dinner next Saturday and that she needs to dress up she knows that he is going to tell her that she has to marry this man. Ingrid would rather die than marry the lecher! So when Mary comes to her in a dream and tells her to go to Everett, Ingrid takes it as a sign and sneaks out and takes the train to Wyoming. But she is terrified that he will send her back to Philadelphia if she tells him who she really is. She hates lying to him but she doesn’t want to take the chance until he has gotten to know her so she is planning to pretend to be Mary. This is a short, steamy read. I have to admire Ingrid’s bravery going to a strange place far away from everything she knows. I will let you get to know Everett on your own. Perhaps these two were made for each other!.
