Description

When Life Falls to Pieces, Answers Lie in the Space Between

After a month-long dance tour overseas, Leni returns to Georgia to care for her great-uncle, only to find him gone, their home empty, and any evidence he ever existed wiped out. All that remains is her truck and a leather-bound book she can’t open. Nearly as disturbing, she keeps running into the deaf and dangerously sexy model she’d met in Italy, and no matter how hard she tries to shake him, her soul won’t let her.

Jeric has traveled the world in search of a piece of his past for over a year, only to reach a dead-end in Georgia … in the exact town where the beautiful dancer from Italy lives. He’s drawn to her like a moth to a flame, but his life as a loner in his silent world allows no room for girlfriends, and he tries to leave her. Except outside forces won’t let him.

When the same “tattoos” suddenly appear on their arms and the book’s lock falls open, Leni and Jeric realize there’s more between them than physical fascination. They must embark on a journey together to discover their connection to each other and their ties to the Book of Phoenix.

And they must figure it all out fast. Shadowy forms that are more monsters than men are closing in, while their own existences are crumbling around them.

This first part of The Book of Phoenix takes you on a heart-wrenching ride as you discover the answers that lie in The Space Between.

Kristie Cook Writes absolutely wonderful Paranormal Romance books! I read her book "Promise" and did not realize I was reading another book by her till I read the notes in the back of this one. No wonder I liked it so much! Loved the book. Can't wait to check out more of her writing!

One of my new favorite books. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!! Kristie has a phenomenal writing ability that really drew me in from page one.Jeric and Leni have the crazy initial attraction to each other that neither can explain when they met in Europe. Now home in the states Leni's world is turned upside down - she's left with an old journal she can't get open, no house and her uncle is missing. When everything seems completely lost she run into Jeric again and the heat between them is undeniable as is Jeric's primal need to protect Leni even though he can't understand why. All of their answers may be in the Space Between.

Someone said it was confusing because it kept jumping from 1989 to 2012... I don't think it was confusing at all, you just need to take time to read the book and not rush thru it. It's a really good book can't wait for the next but I kept thinking "What a mess if you are already married with children and you end up finding your soulmate" What to do in a situation like that? I don't know how these authors can write 2 books different series in the same year, that most very confusing but very aggravating to me because now I am waiting for book 6 of the Soul Savers series and now book 2 of this series. Please Kristie hurry up with these books. Take the opportunity and read these series....

Ok, read this book cause I had become addicted to the Soul Savers series, and had none left to read...*sigh*...so since i was feignin' I grabbed this one. I have to admit, (without giving too much away) that I was instantly drawn in by the story...until it started flipping back to 1989...I got a little frustrated because that part was nowhere as interesting to me as the current day story, I wanted to read the current story only, even though the flashback is massively important for the story as a whole. It would get good, then boom...right back to 1989, where it slowed down...Kinda bummed me out. Caught myself skimming parts...not good. Sometimes got aggravated with the characters ignorance too. But, having said that, all-In-all, in the end, it was a good read and I recommend it. It was original. Imma lil jealous I didn't think of it...as I'm writtin' a book as well, finding a truly original idea is actually hard to do. It's all been said n done before, so kudos to Mrs. Cook for that, and thanks for sharing this story, it had me crying, laughing (yes, out loud), angry, drooling, palms slapping my own forehead, and wishing I had a true soulmate out there somewhere...but...unfortunately for mua, the only place my gut pulls me is to the fridge when I'm hungry...bummer! ;) give it a read, you'll enjoy it.

The Space Between is Part one of The Book of Phoenix, a new paranormal romance series by Kristie Cook, bestselling author of The Soul Savers Series. I'm already a huge fan of Kristie's earlier work, but was curious to see how she would do with a whole new set of characters and circumstances. Well, question answered. She ROCKED IT! The character development is amazing. Kristie has found a way to get us inside the heads of her characters so fully that we feel their joy, their pain, all of their emotions as though the are our own. Add to this a completely unique story with a paranormal twist and you've got a book that will keep you up at night until the last page is turned. I highly recommend this book!
