Driving through rural Alabama on a journey to begin a new life, Rudy Hardt and his pregnant wife are forced to stop for the night in the small town of Nowhere. The farming community seems normal enough, except for the huge hotel in the center of town and the strange scars on the faces of all the locals. Left with no real choice, Rudy and Maryanne take a room for the night; there are plenty of other guests, judging by the cars in the parking lot, so how bad could it be? By the next morning, they’ve been drawn into a sinister plot they don’t understand, and the only thing on Rudy’s mind is leaving town. But it seems his every move is countered and his only hope is to unravel the mystery at the center of it all. With the help of another stranded traveler, one they aren’t sure they can trust, Rudy and Maryanne begin to see the underbelly of a twisted system keeping the whole town in a stranglehold – and escape may not be an option.
