Description

“As fearless as a futuristic Game of Thrones.”— MARGARET STOHL, New York Times bestselling co-author of the Beautiful Creatures trilogy

From Melissa de la Cruz and Michael Johnston, the New York Times bestselling authors of the Blue Bloods and Witches of East End series.

Welcome to New Vegas, a city once covered in bling, now blanketed in ice. Like much of the destroyed planet, the place knows only one temperature—freezing. But some things never change. The diamond in the ice desert is still a 24-hour hedonistic playground and nothing keeps the crowds away from the casino floors, never mind the rumors about sinister sorcery in its shadows.

At the heart of this city is Natasha Kestal, a young blackjack dealer looking for a way out. Like many, she's heard of a mythical land simply called “the Blue.” They say it’s a paradise, where the sun still shines and the waters are turquoise. More importantly, it’s a place where Nat won’t be persecuted, even if her darkest secret comes to light.

But passage to the Blue is treacherous, if not impossible, and her only shot is to bet on a ragtag crew of mercenaries led by a cocky runner named Ryan Wesson there. Danger and deceit await on every corner, even as Nat and Wes find themselves inexorably drawn to each other. But can true love survive the lies? Fiery hearts collide in this fantastic tale of the evil men do and the awesome power within us all. This is a remarkable first book in a spellbinding new series about the dawn of a new kind of magic.

I am wondering if she is going to continue writing with her husband. The book starts a little slow, boring and confusing but then later on you understand the beginning of the book. I am glad I pushed myself to continue reading because I really enjoyed the story. Can't wait for book 2!!!!

I really admire how this book portraits the world if this where to truly happen, how if we were to pollute our world to the extent of it coming to chaos. I loved the fantasy, romance, adventure, and thrill this book had to offer. I don't normally write reviews, but for this book I just had to it's an amazing read. One of my favorite books. Hope there's a sequel as well!

With the plethora of dystopian, post-apocalyptic teen fiction novels out there nowadays, one would think adding another to the mix would hardly be distinguishable from the rest. However, that is not the case with "Frozen", which holds its own. I found this story to be full of suspense and always entertaining. I love how his book had so many different elements of fantasy in it and how it made them its own...sorry I hate writing reviews, but you should totally read this, especially if you are a fan of de la Cruz's other books. You won't regret it; I know I don't!
