Description

The #1 bestselling author of The Christmas Box and master of the holiday novel reimagines the biblical story of Joseph and the coat of many colors, presenting an inspiring modern story of family and forgiveness.

Joseph Jacobson is the twelfth of thirteen siblings, all of whom are employed by their father’s successful Colorado advertising company. But underneath the success runs a poisonous undercurrent of jealousy; Joseph is his father’s favorite and the focus of his brothers’ envy and hatred. When the father seems ready to anoint Joseph as his heir, the brothers make their move, forcing Joseph from the company and his Denver home, severing his ties to his parents and ending his relationship with his soon-to-be fianceé. Alone and lonely, Joseph must start a new life.

Joseph joins a Chicago advertising agency where his creativity helps him advance high up in the company. He also finds hope for a lasting love with April, a kind woman with a secret. However, all secrets hold consequences, and when Joseph learns the truth about April’s past, his world is again turned upside down. Finally, Joseph must confront his own difficult past in order to make his dreams for the future come true.

  • Winter Dream - Not a Good Book

I was interested in this book because every book I've read recently on the NYT list has been quite good, and I was also interested in the theme and how it was an updated narrative about Joseph from the Bible. I was very disappointed. The characters were shallow and contrived, and the story itself was rather boring. I really wanted more depth in the characters, especially the main character. They just didn't seem real because of that. I think this story could have been told in a very interesting and meaningful way, but that's not what I got from it. It was hard to get through it, I kept hoping the story telling and characters would turn a corner but they never did. It really was the worst book I've read in a long time.

Another great novel by RPE. It is a great story of forgiveness written only like RPE can. It is a definite must read for anyone on your holiday list.

A Winter Dream takes you through a wonderful story of love, lost, and family. It also glides you back in time to a family that experienced an amazing reunion. The story of Joseph never fades from those who have made mistakes and the gracious gift of redemption.

I enjoy all of his books. What I am not enjoying is that I- books promised a free book ( the Christmas box) and I have not received it. What a dirty thing to do.
