Description

The uncensored, New York Times bestselling memoir by the polygamist stars of the hit show Sister Wives, Kody and his four wives openly discuss what it’s like living in a plural marriage.

A SINGULAR STORY OF PLURAL MARRIAGE

Since TLC first launched its popular reality program Sister Wives, Kody Brown, his four wives—Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn—and their seventeen children have become one of the most famous families in the country.

Now, with the candor and frankness that have drawn millions to their show, they reveal exactly how their special relationship works—the love and faith that drew them together, the pluses and pitfalls of having sister wives, and the practical and emotional complications of a lifestyle viewed by many with distrust, prejudice, even fear. How do the four relationships differ? What effect does a polygamous upbringing have on their children? What are the challenges—emotional, social, or financial—involved in living this lifestyle? Is it possible for all four sister wives to feel special when sharing a husband? How has being on camera changed their lives? And what is it like to add a new wife to the family—or to be that new wife?

Filled with humor, warmth, surprising insights, and remarkable honesty, theirs is a love story at heart, unconventional but immediately recognizable in the daily moments of trust, acceptance, forgiveness, passion, and commitment that go into making one big, happy, extraordinary family.

I have been watching the show from the beginning. I am now watching Season 17. Christine has now left and I wanted to see how everything started because not everything in the book was on the show. If you watch the show then it is good to read and know why they are the way they are at this point and time.

I watch the Brown's show 'SISTER WIVES' on TLC & got their book to read about their earlier years. What a fabulous, loving, "normal" FAMILY they are! Kudos to them for telling their story & teaching by showing others that they are not what all the negative things & myths about plural marriage is thought to be about.

I strongly recommend this book to fans and addicts of TLC's Sister Wives. This inside look at the Brown's polygamist lifestyle shares intimate thoughts, concerns and insights from Kody and each of his wives. As a monogamist, their public exposure dispelled my ignorant bias against polygamist religion. They do not condone the abusive, incestuous, pedophiliac relationships that should be prevented in unrelated sects. They also support gay marriage and do not force the lifestyle or religion upon their children.

I appreciate the complete raw courage that it took to write this book and tell your story. While I don't find this my religion of choice, I understand why some people would chose this lifestyle. God bless you. I pray you are blessed more each and every day!

Excellent look into the shadows of polygamy. These people struggle, just like the rest of us or maybe even more. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each pf the 5 adults in this family. They could teach us all a few lessons in tolerence and kindness. I would be thrilled to have this loveing family in my neighborhood.
