I really enjoyed reading this book! It’s been a while since I’ve sat down and read a book. This one had me hooked from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. The main character is entertaining and I probably look like a crazy woman laughing to myself over some of the things she does! I highly recommend...ready to start the next one 😁

To be quite honest I am not always a fan of vampire books. I find the whole back story and history of vampires to be quite boring but this book gave enough history to know what was going on while still making the plot of the story the focus. I think the characters were great, all quite unique in regards to each other. The narrator of this book, Nancy Wu, did a really good job. Her animation was great and the differences between her voices for the characters was noticeable, which I quite enjoyed. Overall it was a pretty entertaining story that gave me a few laughs and made listening to while working a good choice.

What is the book about? Betsy Taylor (Elizabeth Taylor) has jut become a vampire after being hit by a car and she's not afraid to tell anyone who will listen to her. She is a girly girl who is obsessed with designer shoes. After waking up in a morgue she quickly goes to rescue her Jimmy Choo's at her evil Step mother's house. After breaking her news to her best friend Jessica and her Mother she is given all the support she needs to continue living "undead. Eric Sinclair has introduced himself and informed her that she is destined to do great things. He even tries to bribe her with fancy designer shoes. She quickly learns that she is not like the usual vampire. Sneezing in the face of anyone who throws holy water at her and laughing at the evil Nostro she has drawn lots of attention to herself. What did I think of the book? The book is so witty and funny I couldn't put it down. I was literally laughing while reading this book. Mary Janice Davidson knows exactly how to appeal to her readers! If I had been turned vampire, I would go and rescue my Jimmy Choo's from the evil step mom too! This is a great start to a great series!

This book is really quite bad. If you were looking for something to fill the gap, between Sookie Stackhouse novels, keep looking. The heroine of this novel is vapid, vain and vulgar. The humor is on a teenaged level but most of the subject matter is suitable only for adults. I really don't have a problem with a little sizzle in my reading material but this was titillating merely for the sake of being titillating. The provocative sex scenes didn't move the plot along much and gave us a very confusing impression of our heroines love interest. Character development is nill, by the end of the book our heroine has learned nothing. Her immaturity remains constant through the book. The other players are mere shades of people, composed of sad stereotypes. It seems the author learned about black people from watching 70s sitcoms and blaxploitation films and gays from watching "Will & Grace". To top it all off the reader is bludgeoned by the authors thinly veiled right leaning politics -- always a turn off in any work of fiction. Do yourself a favor and skip this title entirely.
