Superstar

This is my favorite addition of the Rookie Rebels series. I like when I laugh out loud at something in a book. I had a laugh when reading all of these books but especially in Superstar. I love when a good guy wins!!!! I wish there would have been a bonus chapter with the brothers winning the Stanley Cup and the birth of a baby and a Wedding!!!!

As the title says it was still a good book and cute but I wanted more. It was slow to get into the good stuff and it just felt like something was missing to give it the oomph the other books had. I did like that Bast had to work through the good guy persona by pushing out of his normal bubble

It’s ever so nice when the misunderstanding between the hero and heroine is what starts the novel rather than be something to create some tension before the end that is caused by a lack of communication or by an erroneous assumption on the part of one of main characters.

Loving the Rookie Rebels Series so much! And this was another outstanding pairing. These characters have such an immediate, simmering attraction when they meet and the banter is killer until he finds out who she is. Then all the lies and innuendo that he has heard makes him regret every word he has said. But he just can’t get her out of his mind. Out of his fantasies! This is Bastian Durand and Pepper Calhoun’s story and it is full of turmoil, angst, scandal, bad luck but also regret and love and I was captivated from their first encounter and the intense connection between them. Bast Durand has been struggling trying to get healthy enough after surgery to get back to the sport and life that he loves. But when his team drops him and he signs with another a new dream appears playing in the NHL with his brother Reid. It’s been a long year since he’s played. Then it happens a collision on his first game back from an unusual source the teams’ mascot Rowdy Rebel. Pepper Calhoun has always been a magnet for bad luck and after ruining Bast big comeback the whole city is against her even her own father and brother. But there is somebody that isn’t and finally he just might be able to get what he has been dreaming about, her by herself after the eight long months since they met. If only he can get his boss to come to his rescue in the form of a forced trip with the elusive Pepper. Then maybe they both will be safe from the situation at hand. You don’t want to miss this one it is such a fantastic addition!
