  • The story is amazing, though more about the Pale Eyed Mage would have been great.

    I really enjoyed this book. The story of an ostracized child to parents of higher ranking meeting his first friend. The story really explores the world surrounding Jayhan and his treatment by others. At least until Sasha comes into play. Right off the bat I fell in love with the character and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen. The story becomes more about Sasha than it does about Jayhan, the aforementioned Pale Eyed Mage. The story is definitely worth a read. I would have given this a 4.5 out of 5. I base my ratings on three values: story, flow, and edit. In this case story and flow were both 5’s. Unfortunately there were a few proofing issues that could easily be fixed in the future, but it’s several in mostly every chapter. So that got a 3.5 out of 5. Look past the proofing mistakes. The story is absolutely worth the read and should be given a fair shake. I can’t wait to read book 2!
