Another enjoyable read. The Royal Capital arc is still going, and it’s going strong. For one, this volume has a rare chapter that’s narrated in third person. Nicely showing how the party spends their time, and of course the impacts of Satou’s works on the lives of the common people. While perspective changes isn’t new, third person narrations are quite rare and is a fresh take on things away from Satou’s head. On another, the author also gives a lot of development to the character of a certain princess. In the WN, her characterization is relatively minimal except for after-chapters, so this is welcome for me. The cost for all this, is that the action part gets rather compressed. One particular demon who made a good showing in the WN is pretty much reduced to sideshow here. But the author still could manage to slip in an explanation on how Satou could finally deal the finishing on the big boss fight, which came quite out of nowhere back in the WN. In all, good changes over all. The parts that were cut the story could do without, the part that was added adds quite some value to the story. 5/5, will suffer in waiting for the next volume.

As an avid fan of both the web and light novels it’s amazing to see how different the same plot could be with even subtle changes that can cascade into an almost entirely different story. By this point enough has been changed that it feels new and even I don’t know what will happen. That said this volume left me frustrated at the end (but in a good way) in the same way waiting for the online translations did because I can’t wait to see how certain Events will happen. If you haven’t given the series a go by now, do it. If you have, Just know that this volume is probably one of the best ones to date leaving you wanting to sit and read the entire volume from start to finish and anxious for more. I will be a little bit sad when this series finally comes but I have never been disappointed by the story progression so far and can’t wait to see what is done with the rest of the series.
