Description

The newest romance from New York Times bestselling, Audie Award winning author Kylie Scott!

He walks the red carpet. She’s more familiar with vacuuming one.

When a scandal tarnishes the reputation of hot as hell A-lister, Patrick Walsh, he needs a reputation rescue, pronto.

Enter waitress Norah Peers–a nobody who’s average with a capital A. She’s available, dependable, and has sworn off men for the rest of her natural born life. In other words: the perfect match for a no-strings fake romance.

For the right amount of money, she can avoid waitressing and play the part of his dependable down-to-earth girlfriend. What she can’t avoid–dammit–is the growing steam between them.

But being hounded by the paparazzi and having her life dissected on social media is a panic attack in the making. And while Patrick might be a charming rogue on screen, in real life he’s a six-foot-two confusing, gorgeous, brooding grump, who keeps her at a distance . . . but also makes her feel like this bond between them might be more than just an act.

Being dumped on cue should be no big deal. Except being fake with Patrick is the realist relationship Norah has ever had. What’s a girl to do, but flip the script, and ask for a re-match made in Hollywood?

There’s nothing fake about how good Nora and Patrick are together. What starts out as a means to repair a Hollywood star’s damaged reputation turns into so much more. Patrick’s in a bind due to a poor relationship choice that has thrashed his career. Solution? Get a nice fake girlfriend to rehab his image. He decides that Nora, a waitress at an Italian restaurant he likes to quietly frequent, fits the bill. Nora is currently on a break from dating after making one too many poor choices, leading with her heart and not her brain. When she gets the offer, she accepts because, well Patrick. And the money would allow her to help her grandma. But while she’s game to do her best, nothing prepares her for the whirlwind that is Patrick’s life or the enigma that is Patrick himself. So. Much. Fun!

The story line was really good. If I could I would rate the book a 3.5. The beginning started off kind of slow and just odd. I contemplated giving up on it, but was already too invested. It gets progressively better, however the sentence structure and word choices just didn’t flow right at times. I found myself having to re-read several sentences because some things just didn’t make sense. Once I understood, I was just left thinking, “why did they phrase it that way”? Maybe a bad editor? Not sure, but this book could have been a 4 otherwise.

Loving this new series from Kylie Scott! I love all of Kylie’s books, so it was a no brainer that I got hooked on this book and the start of this new series! Norah is a waitress trying to find her way in the world after a series of unfortunate events and appears somewhat jaded by life. Patrick is a super famous movie star that has been having trouble with his career, especially after his latest scandal involving an affair with his friend’s wife. He frequents the restaurant Norah works at, and she always waits on him, showing no emotion or feelings of fangirling towards him, which he enjoys as he goes there for a low-key experience. When Patrick’s staff recommends him getting into a relationship to save his image, he is reluctant, and while at the restaurant decides that Norah would be perfect because she treats him like a normal person. After accepting his offer and moving in with him, Norah is amazed at how the other half lives and is constantly pushing the boundaries in place while also getting to know the real Patrick. After some crazy scenarios with a crazed stalker and things turning ugly with Patrick’s ex-lover, I was fully rooting for him and Norah to not only make it to the relationship stage but make it real. I can’t wait to see how Kylie develops this series and what character is next! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Celebrity romances are one of my favorite types of romances to read. I truly enjoyed reading Fake by Kylie Scott. It was such a sweet and fun read. Norah is a waitress where a famous Hollywood actor frequents. When she learns Patrick needs help to fix his reputation, could Norah be the one to help? It would be fake relationship and she would be compensated. Sounds easy right? But what happens when lines start to blur, and their chemistry is undeniable? Norah was just what Patrick needed. She was fun and laidback. I loved reading about their interactions and seeing them fall. This was a quick and entertaining read. Happy reading!

I love a good fake relationship! This was such a lighthearted, fun and sweet romance. Norah is a waitress who agrees to be in a fake relationship with movie star Patrick so he can repair his reputation and save his career. This is told entirely from Norah's point of view and I actually really enjoyed that. Patrick is quiet, broody and is good at easily hiding his emotions and this worked really well for their story. Norah is a really good, sweet person who has had to put her own dreams on hold as she shoulders responsibility for her grandmother. I loved this premise - celebrity with the girl next door who meet by chance and then pretend to have a real relationship and find themselves becoming close and the lines between what's real and what's fake being blurred. Patrick had a dry sense of humor and his ability to hide his feelings and thoughts was in direct contrast to Norah, who seems to wear her heart on her sleeve and seems to always tell everyone exactly what she is thinking. I loved watching the two of them grow together, and especially loved the humor in the writing- it's witty, smart and fun and I loved this story. I read it in one sitting - once I started I didn't want to put it down until I hit the end. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this and have voluntarily left an honest review.

I loved this one! This slow burn/fake relationship storyline with a sexy, broody actor will grab you from the beginning to the end. Patrick and Norah’s chemistry is off the charts and their journey will make you swoon and laugh. It’s definitely worth the read.

I absolutely loved this book! Patrick is our grumpy hero who eats at Little Italy to get away from his famous Hollywood actor life. Norah is his waitress. She is average, but loyal—never selling him out. Angie, his agent, is trying to convince him to pick an actress to play his fake girlfriend to save his reputation. But Paddy picks Norah. Begin their world wind relationship! Never mind Norah’s ban on men and Patrick’s never having dated someone for longer than two dates. Get ready for all the feels! Kylie Scott knows how to weave the fairy tale! I love Norah and how her goal is to win real smiles out of her fake boyfriend! And maybe introduce him to some real food! 5 amazing stars
