Another great tale of politics, mystery and magic this time fully engaged on the field of battle. Yes, the story is great! Complex, intriguing, enthralling and goes places you never quite expect, but ends up making total sense. The characters follow a similar path. Just when you think you’ve figured out what is going on, who is doing what and why, and where the tale is going; suddenly you’re moving in a different direction and trying to figure it out all over again, and it is delightful! Plus, today’s best crafter of arcane science adds detail and complexity to an already amazing take on things magical and mystical. Watching this story unfold is absolutely entertaining! Highly recommended.

Having read dozens of fantasy and science fiction series, this series has quickly become one of my favorites. The fast paced stories, complexity of characters and the good natured humor mixed in makes for a very well-balanced story.
