I don't know how the author does it, but this series just gets better and better with each book. I stayed up way too late finishing this up because I just couldn't put the book down. I just love it when a book grabs you right at the beginning and you can just sink down into the story as if you are right there. There is just so much of what I love in this series. The heroine is like an underdog. She is highly underestimated and I get such a kick out of everyone's reactions when she does the unexpected. I also love that she is so casual about all the things she can do. The way she reacts to those trying to push her buttons or even the ones who see her as hero. I love her fierce protectiveness and loyalty to those she sees fit to give to. Her and Jin are just very entertaining to read about. Graydon. One of my favorite heroes to date. He's got all the markings for a great hero. He's very powerful. He's intense. He's well respected. He's also just as loyal and fierce in his protection as Kira is. I also really love how he is pursuing Kira. This is a very slow burn but it definitely is not lacking in Romance. You can just feel the pull between these two. I'm also enjoying the heck outta all the side characters. There are many of them and they all play a big part in this series and what they could mean to Kira. There is still many things to discover in this series. I find that I really like how the author navigates telling her story. I honestly just can't wait for more. I imagine when the final book comes out, I will be very sad to say goodbye to all these characters.
