Description

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Can’t get enough of Joe Goldberg? Don’t miss the latest thriller in Caroline Kepnes’s compulsively readable You series, with an all-new plot not seen in the blockbuster Netflix show.

“Fiendish, fast-paced, and very funny.”—Paula Hawkins, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Girl on the Train

NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY MARIE CLAIRE

Joe Goldberg is done with the cities. He’s done with the muck and the posers, done with Love. Now he’s saying hello to nature, to simple pleasures on a cozy island in the Pacific Northwest. For the first time in a long time, he can just breathe.

He gets a job at the local library—he does know a thing or two about books—and that’s where he meets her: Mary Kay DiMarco. Librarian. Joe won’t meddle, he will not obsess. He’ll win her the old-fashioned way . . . by providing a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand. Over time, they’ll both heal their wounds and begin their happily ever after in this sleepy town.

The trouble is . . . Mary Kay already has a life. She’s a mother. She’s a friend. She’s . . . busy.

True love can only triumph if both people are willing to make room for the real thing. Joe cleared his decks. He’s ready. And hopefully, with his encouragement and undying support, Mary Kay will do the right thing and make room for him.

  • A DISAPPOINTMENT

Everything you loved about Joe in the first two books is absent from this one. It felt like the author was forced by her publisher to make a trilogy out of what should have been a two-book series. It is too bad, because I really, really enjoyed the first two books.

For anyone saying the plot is slow or boring is WRONG. Every plot twist hit me by surprise and I loved this series more than the Netflix take on the show. Loved it.

I was excited to begin reading, but as I kept reading it wasn’t that interesting. It was really slow and predictable. The real events started happening near the end but not much. I can say that it wasn’t the best in the series. But it’s not that bad, I Like hidden bodies more.

It was good, didn’t take long for me to read it, but I was expecting more like the last two books. Felt like it was a little boring(with lack of better word) compared to the others. Still can’t wait for the next one though!!!
  • Amazing until the ending

Wow. Caroline really knows how to keep a reader engaged. At first, given the sudden transition away from Love, I figured I wouldn’t care for the story. However, I became attached to Joe’s new life up north. I found the dynamic and role reversal type story to be really fascinating in this book. Considering this is the 3rd in the series, I would say it was definitely the best out of the 3. It’s weird because even though Joe is broken on so many levels, Caroline finds a way to write him as a like-able guy, at least in my opinion. He’s crazy, yet we still are somewhat rooting for him in the end. That’s what I love about this series and why I think it stands out from most of the contemporary drama romance thriller novels out there. My only complaint for this book is the ending. In my opinion, I think it was a super lazy way to end this book. There could’ve been lots of resolutions to the story to help build a 4th book, which I’m assuming is what she’s setting him up for. At this point, the story is becoming a little hard to keep interest. Jumping from lover to lover in every book I feel will start to lose my interest in the character. Overall the realness of this story was great to follow but I really hope that the 4th will have a better resolution. Also just wondering how this series will end cause I seriously have no idea.

I really wanted to know how the book would compare to the third season, which we haven’t gotten yet. It’s a page turner I had to stop a few times to just take a breath and then continue reading until I was finished. It’s great!
