She walked into my precinct, a jail break on her mind.
With more money than God, she was out of my league, but I didn’t care.
I knew I’d never let her out of my sight.
She would be mine and I’d move heaven and earth to make it happen.

The romance in this book was secondary to the friendship of Addison and Layne. This was more of a buddy comedy. Addison’s family is very rich and Layne’s was quite poor. They became friends when they both attended the same school. Dylan has been in love with Addison’s brother Arlo most of that time. When Layne is arrested for murder she calls upon her friends to help. Jake is the cop who catches the case and he and Addison hit it off. Will they be able to find the real murderer and get back to their normal lives? Will Addison and Jake, as well as Layne and Arlo give into their feelings for each other? I really enjoyed this book as I have everything from this author.

Loved the spunky characters in this storyline! Addison and Layne have been best friends for years, and are constantly getting into trouble together. When Addison gets a call from Layne that she’s been fired and arrested for her boss’s murder, she goes into protective mode and starts raising hell to get her friend out of jail and exonerated. With help from her brother Arlo, who has feelings for Layne, they get her out of jail with the added help of Jake, a detective that Arlo is friends with. When Addison and Jake meet, sparks instantly fly, but Jake knows that she’s going to be trouble and a spitfire but can’t help how attracted he is to her. Addison is immediately drawn to Jake, and decides that she’s going to pursue him while working to exonerate Layne. This book had me cracking up constantly over Addison and Layne and the antics they get into while trying to gain proof and evidence of her innocence. In the end, all four characters get their HEA and Addison finds purpose in her life aside from what the wealthy daughters typically do. I loved the combination of mystery, suspense, and romance that this book provided! To me, this book was different than the typical book I read from Piper but thoroughly enjoyed it! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
