Description

I’m pregnant. Gripping the test in my hand, I can’t stop staring at the blue cross in the window. Tears roll, hot and slow, down my cheeks. I huddle in a low ball, emotion bowing me. My dog, Blue, whines and presses against my side, his warm tongue laving my cheek, his musky scent enveloping me. A familiar comfort. Will my child love Blue as I do? My phone vibrates on the bathroom counter, and I hiccup a sob. Squeezing my eyes shut, pressing more tears free, I hold my breath. Blood rushes in my ears, and my heart throbs in my chest…a tidal wave is washing me away. I can’t do this. The soft ping of a voicemail brings my eyes open. I’m staring at the cross again. Blue shifts closer, leaning his warm weight against me. As tall as a Great Dane, with the elegant snout of a collie, the markings of a wolf, and mismatched eyes—one blue the other brown—Blue means the world to me. My heart will have to make room for more. Fear slices through me, adrenaline flooding my veins and bringing another soft whine from Blue. Standing quickly, the adrenaline demanding action, I glance at my phone. Robert Maxim. He can’t know. My eyes trace to the trash can of the hotel bathroom. Wrap up the test and put it in there. But my hand won’t follow the advice. My fingers grip tighter, refusing to release the small wand of plastic. The proof. The truth. Grabbing my phone off the counter, I step back into the hotel room. Blue stays close to my hip, his nose tapping my waist once, a gentle reminder he is there. I shove the plastic wand into my bag, pushing it into a zipper interior pocket and closing it up. Locking it away. Just throw it out. I can’t. My hand strays to my stomach, and Blue’s nose swipes against my fingers. Vision blurred with tears, I stand in the center of the hotel room, my mind reeling. Lightning sizzles across my vision, and thunder ricochets inside my mind. I’m not cut out for motherhood. I know I’ll survive. It’s everyone I love who dies. That changes now. P.S. The dog does not die. **Beware: If you can’t handle a few f-bombs, you can’t handle this series.**

The plot is very difficult to follow. Perhaps there was a previous book? Too many groups fighting each other

Would have been nice if it was as the whole book instead of just part of a book.

Emily Kimelman has left me speechless again!! This series just keeps getting better and better. Savage Grace is filled with so many twists and turns it’ll make your head spin. Sydney Rye is not only fighting for justice, and trying to save the reputation of “Joyful Justice,” but she’s also still struggling with her personal life. In true Emily Kimelman fashion, she left me anxiously awaiting the next installment of this series. This book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the series.

Loved Savage Grace! Received an ARC and tore right through it. I love how Sidney’s character has developed over the years. And I love the books where all the various players on the team show up. Looking forward to reading the next in the series! Great job Emily!

I don’t even know where to begin. I am literally mind blown. So many twists and turns with ALL the feels. We are 12 books deep in this series and it just keeps getting better and better. I really don’t know how Kimelman does it. I have to say that by far my most favorite character is Frank! That lovable beast of a pup has stolen my heart! I love Sydney and Mulberry. I love Dan, Merl, and all of the Joyful Justice gang. I missed Hugh and Santiago. I even admit that I am loving Robert Maxim. These characters are more than just words on a page. They’re drawn out and complex. Their struggles to find peace in their chaotic lives is hard fought. No rest for the weary and all, right? How does one be a vigilante mercenary while contemplating impending motherhood? I for one can’t wait to see how Sydney moves forward from here.

I couldn’t wait to read the next Sydney Rye book as her adventures keep me on the edge of my seat. This book did not disappoint. From the very first page setting up the story to the very last page which left me wanting more. Sydney has a life that seems to go full throttle all the time, just when you think things will go easier something comes up and away we go again. The ending truly had me looking for more pages, how, I mean really I didn’t see that one coming. Can’t wait for the next adventure.

Every time I open a Sydney Rye book, I know I will experience a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Action-packed, riveting scenes couple with real life situations leaving you breathless all the way to the last page. Savage Grace was no exception as I raced from chapter to chapter absorbing every word and experiencing every high and low alongside the characters. Sydney Rye is a staple part of my mystery must reads, and will continue to be so for years to come!

SAVAGE..GRACE ....Emily Kimelman As one reads the stories about Sydney, it seems like nothing shakes or frightens her, now we know that she does have a fear, of motherhood.I’m sure others think as I do she will be awesome. She and Blue will be there to protect and slay the dragons for the child. Two men, and the attack on the Joyful Justice that are a part of her, how will she handle this, the tears that come, the hurricane that is coming. The story flows, you love this time with Sydney, and wonder how she will be in the next one. With a child stronger, and new avenues will open Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
