Description

Five nights. Two adversaries. One bed in their hotel room…
I’m at the height of my athletic career. Yet my arrogant brother is always trying to recruit me into the family business: a global security company so secretive that I don’t even know its name.
Pass, thanks. I don’t need a summer job.
But the jerk ambushes me with a damsel in distress. That damsel is Alex, the competitive, sassy girl I knew when we were kids. Now she’s a drop-dead gorgeous woman in deep trouble.
So guess who’s on a flight to Hawaii?
It’s going to be a long week in paradise. My job is keeping Alex safe, while her job is torturing me with her tiny bikinis. Or maybe we’re torturing each other. It’s all snark and flirting until the threat against Alex gets serious. And this jock must become her major league protector.
Moonlighter is a stand-alone novel. No cliffhangers, no prior experience necessary. Expect: a growly hero, a lady boss with no time for his attitude, and a war of wills and hormones. Bonus: hunk wearing a baby in a sling.

“Sarina Bowen’s sexiest hero yet!” New York Times bestselling author Elle Kennedy

  • Loved it, but some details were inaccurate

I *love* Sarina’s books, and have read so many of them. A couple of details in this book pulled me out of the story enough to feel irritated by their inaccuracy. There are few places on Oahu that are considered ‘rural’… Honolulu is the state capital and is for all intents and purposes, a big city. But more specifically, there are major hospitals here that are in no way small. Kapiolani is a hospital specially for women and children not just for hawaii but for the entire Pacific with a level 3 nicu. If girlfriend was having emergent issues with her pregnancy, no doubt a single search would have put her in the best care the state has to offer. That’s it. Hot book. Loved the rest. Research locations before writing about them.

I really enjoyed the story! The building up of the relationship between Alex and Eric was great. I do wish there was more closure in the end or even an epilogue, but overall I really enjoyed the book. I had to keep reading without a break to find out how they were going to end up.

  • Blend of sports romance and romantic suspense

Moonlighter is a good blend of sports romance and romantic suspense. Eric Bayer is a player on the Brooklyn Bruisers and the story introduces his brother Max’s Security firm that is so secretive it is known only as The Company. Alex has quite a lot going on in her life. The Company is tasked with keeping her safe but they have to first find out where the threat is coming from. Her childhood friend Eric is roped into helping his brother’s company and acting as Alex’s fake boyfriend on a trip to Hawaii. “One does not win an argument with a woman, one simply survives it.” I loved listening to this story on audiobook. The narration was great and really kept me invested in the story. -4.5 Stars!-

Love this book, though I have to say I haven’t read one I didn’t love. I’m really happy you’re going to write more in regard to the Company, yah!

I love this book it is absolutely wonderful!! This story honestly has so much going for it because there are so many awesome and crazy things happening, but they are all interconnected and tie together nicely. There is a fantastic story line with lots of romance, intrigue, action and all the other good stuff I look for in a romance!! The characters are amazing! I adore Eric and Alex and love that they knew each other as kids because it makes their re-connection so much more incredible and fun. Of course there is the fact that we get more of the Brooklyn Bruisers since Eric plays for them and we've met him before. We get this new intriguing company his brother Max heads up that Eric "moonlights" for during this book for reasons that make a lot of sense when you read it. We get Alex who we have also met before and of course Nate & Rebecca and other familiar characters. I enjoyed every moment from beginning to end which is something I tend to do while reading a Sarina Bowen book! Can't wait for more from this intriguing and entertaining new series.

I am completely head over heels for this new series. Moonlighter was a complete page turner loaded charm that Bowen always brings to her books For anyone that has read the Brooklyn Bruisers series, you’ll be familiar with Eric our MC. I’ve been really excited for his story. I could not get enough of the these two. The forced proximity and circumstances as to why they are together sets up for such fantastic sexual tension and chemistry. There were so many sweet moments with these two. I just loved how Eric was with Alex, he is perfect book boyfriend material. Alex was smart and strong and didn’t fall willingly into the damsel roll. I appreciate strong female MC’s, and I thought she was fantastic. The plot, pacing and overall feel of this book was really great. I always love a little suspense with my romance because it gives the story an edge that I crave. This was a great start to a series I’m really excited to read more of.

Y'all, this is Sarina Bowen like you have never seen her before. And it was pretty incredible, in case you were wondering. Take all the magic of her hockey heroes with hearts of gold and add to it some high tech hacker action, and some pulse pounding suspense and you have this fantastic set-up for a new series, and a sizzling, swoony love story to boot. I loved everything here - from the bodyguard/fake relationship/friends-to-lovers-esque premise, to the gripping, exciting, and interesting storyline. I loved Eric as the lovable grump, and I loved Alex as the whip smart businesswoman who knocked him on his rear end, and stole his heart right out from under him. Their banter was on point, and their burn sizzled slowly with these bursts of fire that set my pulse pounding in a decidedly different way. They were sexy as all get out, but they also had so much heart. I loved the unconventional friends-to-lovers thing they had going. They were a complete treat to read. And the ending is one of my favorite things I have read in...I don't even know how long. After a thrilling, sexy, pulse pounding story - Ms. Bowen gave us a different kind of thrill. Over-the-top in a way that sat just right with my heart. A little bit humorous and a whole lot heartfelt - it was just perfection. I loved it so much - loved literally everything about this story - and cannot wait to see what The Company has in store for us next!

Eric Bauer is in the house! Yes, this is Eric from the Brooklyn Bruisers hockey team featured in a new spin-off series by one of my go to, drop everything authors, Sarina Bowen. In this new series, The Company is the ultra secret, high tech security firm run by the Bayer family - Eric’s brother Max and father Carl to be exact. It is so secretive, that Eric doesn’t even know the exact name of the firm; they only refer to it as “the company.” In this release, hockey is a secondary character. Eric is on hiatus from the team, before the start of the season and finds himself being conned into working for his brother. He is to pose as the new, super jealous boyfriend to CEO and media mogul Alex Engles - who also happens to be a longtime family friend. Eric and Alex have history. And Alex has a secret. It is a well written, highly entertaining work of romantic fiction. I love Sarina’s stories, and her character building. Moonlighter and The Company series will continue to build upon that.
