In the tender embrace of Millicent, Lyon discovers a path to redemption, his heart slowly thawing beneath her gentle touch. And as their bond deepens, Millicent realizes that beyond Lyon's gruff exterior lies a man of unparalleled kindness and passion—a man she yearns for with every beat of her heart. In each other's arms, they find not only solace but the promise of a love that defies all odds, igniting a desire that burns brighter than any flame.

That’s what this book makes me feel, this quote I believe sums up the book beautifully. Though in the beginning it was a little slow and even a little frustrating. I truly enjoyed this book. Such as the same could be said, for the pacing, it is the same for the plot. This is what the characters had to learn in the story, and I think this author truly wrote it beautifully and with such grace, you don’t even realize you love the book until you love the book lol. I haven’t developed such a deep affection for characters like this in a while. At various moments in this book I can only think one thing. Wow she wrote this perfectly! So romantic. You’re doing yourself a favor reading such a good story, a really good read.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a nice long read, with character development and well thought out plot. Many books of this genre are short, skip straight to intimacies and, my biggest pet peeve, have the major conflict be something easily remedied by communication but the characters are too stubborn to see it. Millicent & Lyon are well rounded adults who communicate and a good match for each other. They are also of progressive ideals and treat their staff quite well and don’t do so in a way that is cheaply written. I enjoyed seeing the interactions of the characters. Definitely recommend reading.

I love to read and have read a lot of books. I really enjoyed this one. The book has a good flow to it. The characters are interesting. Best of all, it didn’t have one of those scenes where the couple break up over some stupid misunderstanding. I recommend this book to anyone looking for romance.

I loved this book! Finally a different kind of story that kept me intrigued and wanting more. The characters were cleverly developed as each one had their own back story. The steamy parts were awesome! I can’t wait to read another of May McGoldrick’s books.
