Review: LSERT 2: Suppression

Suppression by Laramie Briscoe is the second book in her Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team series. This is the next generation awesomeness of the Moonshine Task Force series. So while readers of the the MTF books will get a kick out of the characters involvement in the LSERT series it is all about the new kids. Suppression is the story of Nick Kepler and Kelsea Harrison and is heartfelt, emotional, angsty and wonderful.
Nick was rescued by the Keplers when he was in his early teens. A life of abuse and neglect finally came to an end when he joined their family but it seems as though he has always been waiting for the other shoe to drop. As a result he has never allowed anyone too close outside of the Kepler's. Even Kelsea and he has liked her for a long time.
Kelsea knows some of the trouble Nick has had to deal with but she is about done putting herself out there for him. While they excel at friendship he just can't seem to let her in any closer than that. But as they both are drawn to each other and their feelings are obvious Nick is getting better at letting her close. But then an opportunity falls into their laps and they have to completely change their dynamic or risk another's well-being.
Loved this so much. There has not been a Laramie book so far that I haven't been invested in and this whole Laurel Springs family is one I love to visit again and again. Enjoy!
