Description

One of Bustle's Most Anticipated Fall Releases

Debut author Sarah Smith nails this fun and sexy rom-com where two office foes hammer out their differences to build a love that will last....

Emmie Echavarre is a professional faker. She has to be to survive as one of the few female employees at Nuts & Bolts, a power tool company staffed predominantly by gruff, burly men. From nine to five, Monday through Friday, she's tough as nails--the complete opposite of her easy-going real self.

One thing she doesn't have to fake? Her disdain for coworker Tate Rasmussen. Tate has been hostile to her since the day they met. Emmie's friendly greetings and repeated attempts to get to know him failed to garner anything more than scowls and terse one-word answers. Too bad she can't stop staring at his Thor-like biceps...

When Emmie and Tate are forced to work together on a charity construction project, things get...heated. Emmie's beginning to see that beneath Tate's chiseled exterior lies a soft heart, but it will take more than a few kind words to erase the past and convince her that what they have is real.

This book had the potential to be so great. I think the plot line, if executed correctly, could have made for a really fantastic book. In my opinion, the characters got together far too quickly. It would have been nice to see Emmie and Tate bicker for a while longer before they entered a relationship. Most of the book was about Emmie recovering from her surgery so that her and Tate could have sex. There was no true chemistry between these characters. One moment Tate is a closed off man who wants to take things slow and in the next moment he’s sharing his whole life story with her and filling out relationship disclosure forms. It was also clear from day one that he had feelings for her. There was so surprise or tension that would leave readers sitting on the edge of their seats. Very disappointing. I’m only finishing the book because I paid for it.

This book had me up all nights just to finish reading. It was the perfect mix of suspense and romance that I’ve always wanted. The characters made me feel as if I was their friend and I want to know, see, and read MORE! PLEASE make a companion book to Faker, because I need more of Emmie and Tate! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

It was so terribly predictable and the plot wasn’t interesting at all.
  • So dramatic

I wasn’t terrible but “Emmie” the main female character drives me insane because she is insanely dramatic about everything.
