Description

INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER

The bestselling author of The Simple Wild and Keep Her Safe and “master of steamy romance” (Kirkus Reviews) delivers a sizzling novel about an ambitious and high-powered executive who reconnects with her first love: the boy who broke her heart.

Life is a mixed bag for Piper Calloway.

On the one hand, she’s a twenty-nine-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancé—a fellow VP—on the other side of her glass office wall every day.

Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller—the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group, and coincidentally the first love of her life.

The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counselors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name.

Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is still alive and strong, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

I have fallen in love with this author and her work. The perfect balance between a moving story and just enough chemistry to feel like you’re reading a real “romance” novel. This is my favorite, as I am a sucker for a really great second chance romance.

I love the alternating time frames from the past to the future. It really gives a twist on how the story and characters are developed! This story is sweet, highlighting young love that got taken away, only to return years later. The journey is rocky for the characters and the author does a good job at keeping the readers hooked/in the dark until the end! I do wish there was a little more of their life after the outcome of what is revealed, but that’s okay. Worth the read!

Couldn’t put down! Sequence in which storyline is told, doesn’t let you put down book until you know the ending. Accidentally ran into book while searching for song, very happy I did. Loved the main characters, had to read in one day. Storyline also left me wanting more from secondary characters.
  • A must read and can’t put down

Even after all of these years, my thoughts still go back to Kyle Miller and what we had, where he is and why... Piper Calloway comes from a well-off family, and her mom has so lovingly decided that it is time for her to go to her childhood camp as a counselor. She wants Piper to stay grounded and see where the “other half” come from and what they do for fun. Piper is initially not interested, but appeases her mom and agrees. All things change shortly after arriving. Enters Kyle Miller.... Kyle Miller, the heartthrob and rebel (but well-loved counselor) of camp Wawa has just arrived and everyone stops dead in their tracks, especially Piper. Her mom notices too, and with a coy comment “so it’s going to be that boy” it brings Piper back to reality, and she’s thinking....”ya....that boy.” 13 years later, Piper is running her dad’s architectural company, and Kyle Miller has vanished and Piper has never really moved on. Even through college, other boyfriends, and her engagement to David. Then one day, she spots someone who looks eerily similar. Then suddenly, Kyle is thrust back into her life and she can’t shake those feelings for him. 13 years did nothing to cease the connection between the two of them. The story goes back and forth between present and past. It’s hard to imagine meeting your soul-mate at age 16, but they both know they have never been able to move on. They endured things at Camp Wawa that most adolescents don’t go through. In present time, there are still many obstacles to their relationship and it gets downright ugly, but it’s a blessing to be able to see what decisions were made in the past and why. They return to where their hearts belong, but not without many bumps and bruises along the way. The plot twist towards the end really pulls you in and you’ll finish this read with excitement and curiosity.

There’s just something so sweet and beautiful about first love. That all encompassing and consuming love that stays with you your entire life. Say You Still Love Me captured that innocence and purity so well, bringing back memories of youthful, carefree days. I loved slowly unraveling Piper and Kyle’s story. The book alternates between the past and the present and I loved the chapters at Camp Wawa and seeing their connection grow (and sadly abruptly end). It was heartbreaking to see them struggle to reconcile the past and attempt to find closure 13 years later. Wondering if what happened that summer left an indelible mark on the other as well. This was definitely an emotional read as the past comes full circle and hard truths are revealed. Some of the story played out exactly as I predicted, but there was a twist or two that left my heart hurting. This is my first book by KA Tucker, but her writing was heartfelt and poignant and I can’t wait to read more. *I voluntarily read an advance review copy of this book*
