Great story. Jessalyn comes to her brother’s house in London to get her dowry because she is pregnant by one of her brother’s stablehands. Unknown to her Christopher has gambled everything away including her dowry and is presently dying from consumption. To save her, Christopher asked Ethan’s brother Julian to contact him and request he return to England. When he returns, Ethan finds Christopher dying, Jessalyn pregnant and unwed. Christopher requests he marry Jessalyn in order to save her after the father of her child deserts her. Ethan has a lot of bad memories that still haunt him but agrees to the marriage. There is a lot more happening in this book but you need to read it for yourself. There is a HEA for Jessalyn and Ethan but not before he almost destroys their marriage. This is a great read and I would highly recommend this book.
