This novel was actually published in 1970 and the science behind a couple of plot points has changed which might bother some. However it is a great premise and the story is rooted in science and feels plausible for its genre. I found the prose a bit clunky ( thus the 3 stars rather than 4 ) often thinking it might have been translated to English. But that might just be me. If you like hard SF it’s certainly worth a read.

This is like sitting in the theater (remember those?) eating popcorn and watching a star trek movie. Also, all the ‘hard science’ kind goes a little soft at the end.

Love the premise of this book. Raw energy, hard science, what’s not to like?
