Description

One tragic night changed sensible, proper Lady Edith Pelton’s life: when her best friend fell to her death, pushed down a flight of stairs by a nefarious lord.  Now, Edith dedicates her time to watching the man she thinks is responsible, while gathering information to expose other scoundrels posing as gentlemen of honor about London. When her spying is noticed by a perfect stranger, Edith finds herself with two mysteries—what happened to her friend, and how to win the heart of this brilliantly handsome lord.

Triston Neville, Viscount Torrington, has been tasked with two duties for the upcoming Season: see that his sisters make the most of their debut, and avoid embroiling himself in another scandal. What he does not expect is the captivating, fair-haired beauty that literally falls into his path. When the mysterious Lady Edith suddenly disappears without a trace, Triston fears his past misdeeds may have returned to destroy his life once more.

Can Triston piece together the puzzle in time to save Edith and prove that his love is nothing less than honorable?

I would consider this more of a mystery/suspense book than romance. No steam and as far as romantic relations between Edith and Tristan go there were maybe 3 kisses. Still it was a pretty interesting book I just wouldn’t consider it romance.

I have no idea why, but the book I read was not at all the description. It was about a Lady Godiva, and not Lady Edith. This needs to be looked into because other people have also pointed out it’s the incorrect book behind the cover. While the book I read was ok, I was really looking forward to reading what the synopsis said. Pls fix!!!!!
  • Decent story, meh characters

Typical impoverished noble looking for wealthy wife. Will they get together for love or money? Characters lacking fire, a bit vanilla
  • The description and title have nothing to do with the actual book received

The downloaded book is not the disappearance of Edith. Major mixup. And whatever book this is, it is not worth reading. Don’t waste your money.

Although it wasn’t the book I wanted to read, it was not bad.

First off, the cover is beautiful and invites the reader to open the book. Secondly, the prologue drew me right in. What really happened to Tilda? Why wasn't her new husband more distressed at seeing the state of his new bride? What are Edith, Luci and Ophelia going to do? Fast forward nearly a year and Triston and Edith have their first meeting. Sparks flew from that moment. I enjoyed each of their meetings, their escapades and their good hearts. There were some interesting twists and turns in the story that kept me reading until the end. There are many more stories to be written about the wonderful characters introduced in this book. Also, the mystery from the prologue has still not been resolved. I look forward to reading those books as it will be fun to see what Luci and Ophelia are up to next. I always enjoy Ms. McKnight's book and this one was as good as all of her others. I encourage you to read and enjoy it.
