Going ok till page 33 and the use of the word “ghetto”. Nope!!

There was a skip in the storyline at the beginning of the book. I was really confused. The summary was the best part of the book.

A Review of A Love So Dangerous (To The Bone #1) by Lili Valente A modern Day Robin Hood - 5+++++ stars I absolutely LOVE Lili's writing style and characters. I have to say, this isn't like what I am used to reading as the characters are actually committing a criminal act, even if their reasons are honorable. I can totally understand where Caitlin is coming from since she has been desperately trying to hold her family together in every way she can, because she became part of the system at one point because her parents couldn't take care of them. She dropped out of High School to raise her brothers and her niece, after her Mother took off and her sister decided to follow her drug dealer, leaving her two month old as with Caitlin as well. Her Father isn't much help either, since he prefers to drink his problems away, leaving Caitlin to provide for the family of six on her own. Caitlin is out celebrating her birthday with her best friend when Gabe sees her on the dance floor and goes after her. While they both enjoy the music and the dirty dancing together, when she finally looks up and recognizes him, she pulls a disappearing act on him. Gabe just happens to be one of the guys she went to school with when she had a scholarship, but the Cooney name caused her to have to deal with a lot of harassment. Gabe has all the money he wants and the ability to get away with almost anything. Why is he on this path of playing Robin Hood and why does it seem he has no regard to his own life. Why does he want to drag Caitlin along with him? I have to say that I loved the overall story and the characters. Oh boy, Gabe and Caitlin are a modern day Robin Hood. Caitlin is totally involved with her younger brothers and her niece to deal after the other adults, her mother and sister, leave her alone to deal with this mess. Her father is a real loser and makes a bad situation even worse. Babe to her rescue! He's a wealthy trust fund baby that loves to make wrongs right. When he meets Caitlin he has the answers to her problems, but are they legal? You have to read this book to find out what they are up to! It's a cliff hanger but totally worth it!

Caitlyn is young and extremely stressed out. She dropped out of high school and is now raising her three younger brothers and 3-year-old niece since her mom and sister bailed and her dad is a drunk. She is about to lose it all too. On the night of her 20th birthday, she goes out dancing with her friend. She loses herself in the music and finds herself grinding on an old classmate, Gabe. Gabe comes from a very wealthy family and doesn't really understand why Caitlyn "enables" her parents and sister. He decides that he wants to help her out and talks her into being Maid Marian to his Robin Hood. Things heat up between them fast but will it last? I loved this book! I really feel for Caitlyn and how stressed out she is all the time. Raising 1 kid at the age of 20 is hard enough but 4 is tremendously difficult. When Gabe offers to help her out I wasn't surprised at the form of the offer. He just had a bad boy vibe from the get go so his thievery fit. The reasons he was doing it was a little surprising though. This book ends on a cliffhanger so I'm waiting in suspense for the next book. It's been a while since I read a book with a cliffhanger that made me want to read the next book so I enjoyed that. I can't wait to see what Lili Valente has in store for the characters next!

Caitlin is at her wit’s end trying to figure how she is going to make ends meet before she has to pay the tax man the following week, realizing that she doesn’t have a way to get there and this will mean that her brothers and niece will be split up into foster homes, a place she knows from experience is not a good place to be. It is also her 20th birthday so her and her friend Sherry go out dancing, the only way she can escape her current situation. In comes Gabe, a well off handsome man that she went to school with before she had to drop out to try to raise her siblings as her mom skipped out and her dad being an alcoholic was not helping. Unbeknownst to Caitlin, Gabe is a man who knows how to get things, and he has decided to help her get what she needs. By doing things to get back at the bad guys....and reaping in the benefits... They decide to spend the summer together and this is a roller coaster of a ride and you better hang on for the cliff hanger at the end. It's an amazing read and I love this author! Loved this one! It sucked me right in. It's told from the first person point of view with dual points of view from Caitlin and Gabe. Caitlin has sacrificed so much for her family now she may lose everything she's trying to keep together. Then she meets Gabe and her world as she knows it will never be the same. Gabe is not the typical hero, but he has the qualities that make him one heck of a good guy. I will warn you this does end on a cliffhanger and one heck of a one to boot. Will Gabe's and Caitlin's activities finally catch up with them? It also leaves you with questions about Gabe. This book has the drama, passion, suspense, and heart I look for in a good book. Can't wait to read the next book to see what's in store for Gabe and Caitlin.

A Love So Dangerous is the first of a three-part series from one of my favorite, must-read authors, Lili Valente. She has given us a taste into the journey of an unexpected love between Caitlin and Gabe, and in her usual style, has given us a story that will not only pull at your heart, but it will also have you hanging on the edge of your chair with moments of suspense and danger. Caitlin is living a difficult life dropping out of school to raise her three brothers and her niece because they cannot count on their alcoholic father who doesn't work and spends money faster than she can earn it, and an absent mother and sister who have both deserted them. She is forced to work two jobs to support her family and is always struggling with money problems. On the night of her 20th birthday, Caitlin decides to take the night off from her worries and responsibilities and when she unexpectedly runs into Gabe, they feel an immediate connection. Their one night together ultimately leads to a bit of danger, not to mention an unexpected hot and steamy encounter which overwhelms them both. Although they agree to keep their relationship simple, limited to one summer together, they both quickly become aware of the deep feelings they are developing for one another. From the beginning, we get a feel for Gabe’s almost immediate need to protect Caitlin, not only from their shenanigans, but also from anyone who he feels does not have her best interests in mind. And not only does Ms. Valente give us some hot, sensual moments, she also writes the most loving and beautifully tender scenes and some heartbreaking ones as well. As I continued turning the final pages, all I could think was “No! No! Don’t do this to me!” But as she had forewarned, Ms. Valente left me hanging wondering what will happen next. I can’t wait to get my hands on book 2 with the continuation of this series and hopefully answering the questions Ms. Valente has left in my mind.

The writing is absolutely outstanding! Lili Valente can write anything. A Love So Dangerous is sexier, darker and hotter with an extremely different plot twist. This is a unique story of Caitlin and Gabe. On her birthday she decides she needs a night out. She goes out dancing and is approached by Gabe, a hot sexy guy who's looking for something different than his normal dates. There's heat, there's a smokin' connection and there's recognition! I think saying it's a wild night is a bit of an understatement! Caitlin is taking care of her brothers and niece and trying to earn enough money to keep their house and feed her family. Gabe can't forget about the one night they spent together so he has a proposition for her that she can't say no to. They agree to spend the summer together and their lust quickly turns into something deeper. I was sucked into the story from the beginning and couldn't put it down. Gabe is so effing sexy and dangerous with just enough of a dirty mouth! Caitlin is beautiful and caring and can't help but fall for him. They have major obstacles and there is a cliffhanger. I laughed and I cried and I can't wait to see how their story plays out. This is a memory I want to keep for the rest of my life. This is one of the pictures I want to flash before my eyes when I'm fighting for my final breath. And then I see him, Gorgeous Gabe, leaning against the weathered bricks of Harry's Diner, his jagged brown hair hanging so delicious in wrinkled black jeans and a whisper-thin gray tee shirt it should be illegal. The moment our eyes meet, his full lips draw into a grin that promises the best kind of trouble, and something breaks inside me.

Wow, that is all I can say about A Love So Dangerous. The title says it all. Just when you think you have everything figured out, Lili Valente throws a curve ball and your spun into an emotional roller coaster. Gabe and Caitlin are just perfect together. Lust, love, darkness, edginess are just some of the things you'll feel when your reading it. Their relationship is not the norm but then again their courtship has not been one as well. One summer, that is what they have promised one another. But what happens when the heart wants more? Danger lurks in the shadows, the aftermath of Caitlin and Gabe's activities. Although their illegal activities were done for justice, in the end it awakens a monster. A monster that will not stop until Caitlin and Gabe pay. As always, job well done Lili!! Can't wait for A Love So Deadly, the continuing story of Gabe and Caitlin.
