This is a wonderful, inspirational read that held my attention from the first page to the last. Set in the beautiful countryside of Montana around the Glacier National Park, the author does an impressive job of painting a picture and bringing the scene right to you through her writing. It's an incredible story of past pain, secrets, forgiveness, and new beginnings. Kacey Fairing is back home in Mercy Falls currently on leave from the military but looking to take a permanent job with the local search and rescue team. She has a daughter who barely knows her having been home only between deployments for the last 12 years. What she doesn't realize is that Ben King is also back in Mercy Falls. Ben King, the father of her daughter. The daughter he knows nothing about. Avoiding him won't be an option either. With the state being in a state of emergency due to the floods, they will be working together to help others. Emotions are high, faith is questioned, and the future undecided but Ben and Kacey always had a special connection and nothing has changed. Can they find a way back to each other? Definitely a recommended read.

A new series for Susan May Warren, WILD MONTANA SKIES. I have enjoyed her other books ;with this book it's has the warmness of a community, and the healing in the family. Peak Rescue,in Mercy Falls, was to be a new job for the summer as lead pilot for Kacey. The changes of seeing her teen age daughter which had only been on deployment would bring another change. Another change was who was running Peak Rescue, an old love, Ben. Putting his music career on hold, to help run, and help his injured father. Great story of old wounds being healed as they worked together. Given ARC by Net Galley for my honest opinion.
