Ghost of a Chance

I couldn’t help but smile at the antics of the characters. Life in a small town seems much more interesting than I ever imagined.

A feel good story with ghosts from book 2 in the series. A quick read.

Short but sweet

This is a short christmas story about Verity and Frankie helping out a friend. It starts out as a simple mission to get a necklace back and ends up a bigger mission to reunite a mother and son. This was a heartwarming story with great humor and is a very good addtion to the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries. It was quick to read and left me anticipating the next book.

This novella finds the main character Verity in yet another sticky situation. As the towns resident “Ghost Whisperer”, she is called upon by a ghost she befriended previously, Major Matthew Jackson of the Union Army, to retrieve something from his mother to give to his girlfriend Josephine. It is of great importance that he has this object but due to previous family problems he is unable to obtain it on his own. If Verity is involved nothing can ever be straight forward and easy. She has the ability with the help of her ghost shadow Frankie the German to get into all kinds of interesting situations and this time is no different. Set during the holidays she sees her opportunity to help Matthew when her friend Lauralee is hired to cater a Christmas party at Matthew’s child hood home. I laughed out loud at some of Verity’s antics. I have loved this series from the very first book and look forward to reading many more adventures of Verity. Author Angie Fox has served up an entertaining tale for a quick read by bringing back Verity Long, everyone's favorite communicator with the recently, and not so recently departed. Along with the help of her '20s gangster sidekick, Frankie, Verity is enlisted by Civil War veteran Matthew Jackson to retrieve a very special memento from his family home. The characters from this series are quickly becoming familiar old friends, and this sweet story, centered around the holiday season, is the perfect length for a soak in the tub or to curl up with under an afghan on your sofa. Do something nice for yourself, or introduce a friend to the fun, entertaining, engaging stories in this colorful series.
