Meanwhile, Alice and many young Officer Candidates are challenged by the rigorous training provided by the new Triton Fleet Academy. Her mind, body and preconceptions will all be tested as she makes her attempt to complete the first curriculum so she can become a leader in the growing fleet. The fight awaits Alice and her fellow students but they have to prove themselves before they are allowed to join the battle.

Everyone will be pushed to their limits as they confront some of the most incredible challenges and mysteries of their lives.

So good! A little slow in the beginning but I was soon zipping along. I love this series and how the characters feel real. They live, love and even hate. We're meeting some new ones too. I can't wait for the next installment!

I never cease to be amazed, and I never expect the ending to come so soon. Loved the book, love the series, and especially love the little bits in the episode that takes me back to the days of The Triton "D, D, D" or the days of The Samson. Thank you, as always, for another wonderful read, can't wait for the next one. Merry Christmas Captain.
  • Not Always About The Books

Just want to state that this review is NOT a direct reflection of the series, but instead about the constant push back of Freeground. Lalonde is a fantastic author, and so very skilled with his narration of a story and the different characters. The technology introduced and improved upon has made it by far one of the best series I've ever read. The books set a pace, and seemingly one that Lalonde has fallen from. That being said, the release date for this book has been stalled...and probably should never have been set in the first place. While I agree that it takes time to deliver quality, there has to be a balance. Lalonde is still finding his.

I love this series and got addicted to it very fast. I preordered this book back in May/June and have been waiting for it ever since. The release date is constantly pushed back every month. Any reason?
