David Belasco (1853 – 1931) was an American theatrical producer, impresario, director and playwright. During his long career between 1884 and 1930, Belasco either wrote, directed, or produced more than 100 Broadway plays.
“The Return of Peter Grimm” is a famous novel made from the play by David Belasco in which the main character is Peter Grimm who is a prosperous good man who had made serious errors in running his family and deciding what is to be done with his worldly possessions. His biggest error was separating his ward from the youth she loved and who loved her and encouraging her engagement to his rotten nephew. Grimm returns as a spirit and attempts to right his wrongs.
