Description

The rules:
No dating.
No sex outside of the game.
No disclosing the terms of the contract.
Rules were made to be broken, right?

Eight weeks ago I signed a contract.  One that seemed like a good idea at the time.  A handsome bachelor, luxury accommodations, and a chance to win a prize my family desperately needed.  There were some rules though.  Lots of them actually.  Follow the script, no dating, sex, or disclosing the terms of the deal.  After my self-imposed moratorium on men the last year, it wouldn’t be hard to live up to my end of the bargain…so I thought.  Until I realized the deal I’d made was with the devil…and I was in love with his dirty-talking brother.

Most romances are about the same plot told in various ways. This one is refreshingly different. I don't even like or watch reality TV , but I enjoyed this story because it gave a different type of story tension than the norm.
  • Smooth Flow, Lacked Emotional Chemistry.

✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ FOUR-STAR ✩ REVIEW ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ > > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < The cover model is adorable. B&W composition always catches my eye. Add the pink & white font and graphics and it pops! The synopsis piques the interest. > > Looking Deeper < < POV ~> Alternating first person. There are a lot of players vying for page time in this book. Kate and Connor are supposed to be the main couple, but sometimes it's hard to see that fact past her best friend-roommate-lawyer, his skeevy brother, the bachelor rockstar, the scorned starlet, and the boobjob barbie contestant(s). There are also plenty of smaller secondary cast members in the story as well making it all a little overwhelming to keep track of. The chemistry between Kate and Cooper seemed magnetic, but did not feel like it should have been as intense as it was portrayed to be. Kate lost much of her sass and independence as the story progressed to Cooper, who'd become domineering and somewhat, if not passive-aggressive, controlling. It was difficult to not want to throat-punch Miles (and Tatiana); they were worse than nails on a chalkboard annoying, but the remaining dialogue and interactions were pretty enjoyable. The plot was as it claims to be. It was written well and flowed smoothly. There were a few predictable moments, especially with the main conflicts, but not enough to deter a reader too much. The conclusion is solid. Surprisingly, this is the first book I'd read by Vi Keeland and I enjoyed the quality of writing and the way it flowed smoothly. . A bachelor themed reality show. A clandestine love affair between one of the favorite female contestants and the brother of the producer of the show, not the bachelor. Throw in blackmail and this story had me so worried for my couple I had come to care about. Of course the bachelor is charming, handsome and a great catch. The man Kate really loves is an alpha, sexy, handsome and use to getting his way. Leads to a very good story that has you on the edge of your seat till the end. It's also very hot and sexy!

It's hard to stay focused on the storyline. I get distracted by the reality tv show and Coopers business. Even the sex between Cooper and Kate is not enough to keep my mind occupied. It's not that appealing. I guess I'm not in the norm because I did not find it intriguing or captivating at all. I skimmed through all the business talk and most of the reality tv show scenes. All the sexual innuendos are annoying. The relationship is based only on sex and jealousy. The references to Coopers wealth are bothersome. I find it unnecessary to keep stating how much money he has. The entire story is becoming focused on money because Kate needs money to help her family and that Is why she won't quit the show. So many excuses and yet she still finds ways to sneak off with Cooper. As all stories go this one follows in the same pattern: jealousy, forbidden love, sabotage, lies, wealth, and two men to choose from. Sometimes these work together to make a great story even though they are written frequently, but this one is missing the believability factor. Kate is pimping herself out for the sake of the money to help her family. Kate has other means to get money but won't budge. Kate sets this entire scenario up. Kate can only blame herself. The story has too many unnecessary fillers regarding clothing and furnishings. The relationship with Flynn has more depth and more details. Vi wants the reader to fall in love with one guy and hate the other. The old adage if you love it set free. Should be titled lucky charm.
  • I really enjoyed this cute spin on reality dating shows!

Every girl loves a sweet romance, especially when boy sweeps the girl off her feet while on bended knee declaring his undying love presenting a flawless diamond for the whole world to see. How could any girl say no to that, especially when the grand prize is $250,000.00!!! Okay, so maybe it's not the Cinderella ending you were thinking of, but that's the thrill of reality dating shows, which is the witty backdrop of this fun, well delivered read from Vi Keeland. This was reality with a twist, with a well thought out plot, and characters that captured my heart. Glad to see that Flynn will get his own story, as he held a soft spot in my heart as well. I wouldn't even mind seeing someone knock Miles of his feet. Thanks Vi for a fresh, fun and flirty look at reality love!
