CW--Part One contains what I consider to be the series' most difficult scene. There is also a brief, non-depicted instance of childhood SA. The act is NOT shown; rather, the child is comforted by a loving presence who is furious on her behalf. To skip it, turn to page 28 (on most e-readers), to the section after the page break beginning "When you awaken much later..." The story never returns to this topic. In Book One, for a brief time in the hellrealm scene, women are observed in peril--though not as graphic as HBO's Game of Thrones.
Part One is intense by design--it establishes how terrible the hellrealm is. But the series also contains love, abundance, pleasure, friendship, and found family.
